I thought Yedlin was pretty much nailed on to go to Roma (as of last week).
He is very athletic and pacy, but extremely raw and lacks positional awareness.
In either case, he isn't ready to compete for starting RB at Spurs. Perhaps a year or two at one of the bottom feeder EPL clubs via loan would do the trick?

Spurs are favourites to sign Seattle Sounders and USA right back DeAndre Yedlin, according to ESPN analyst Taylor Twellman.

Er... do we actually need another young right back? Kyle is here for the long haul (hopefully) and the other Kyle can cover him as he did most of last season, and failing that, Dier can do the job.

Yedlin is a good player, and has played well for the Sounders. He has actually played for the U.S. against South Korea under Klinsmann and was part of the selected team for the 2014 WC.

I couldn't see him getting in front of Walker today, but we do need someone to challenge him for a place, and in my opinion Yedlin is a far better player today than Naughton.

If Naughton is to be sold (according to reports) then Yedlin would be a very good replacement.

We could possibly make a million or two by selling Naughton and signing him.

I've not seen much (if anything) of him, however, the gist I'm getting tells me this, if he's not yet ready to perform week in week out at PL level, then is he worth wasting one of our 17 overseas player places on? Personally I'd keep Naughton, or if he's definitely agitating to go, try for Richards or give Frederiks a shot. Save that overseas space for someone who'll offer more impact.

As Keller says we will probably look to loan him out to see how he gets on.

Yes,
Walker badly needs some competition for his position, it should make him think twice about fucking up. Naughton isn't competition he is just cover.

You might not have meant to, but you make it sound as if he does this on purpose. He's still a young player learning his craft, and he's developing and maturing with every game he plays, but like every player in the world, he doesn't always get it right. Why not cut him a little slack.

We already have decent cover in Fryers and Dier, so I don't know why we're looking at any other young defenders.
