Personally I've always thought buying Rodriguez would be asking for trouble right now. We can't make another expensive mistake and it's laden with risk so soon after such a bad injury for someone who's had one decent season in the top flight
Poch won't get any of his expensive targets no matter who comes in for them. Levy just takes it out as part of the dance but he'll never let Poch stroke it.

I am not convinced we need to buy, and certainly not in January. Let the coach have time to improve the system(s) and the existing players. Radical patience!

But there isn't anything for Poch to fear because he's too expensive so Levy won't be buying and he's another defensive type midfielder, we got way too much of those.

Players like Soldado, Lennon, Ade, Vlad, Kaboul, Naughton, Townsend, Paulinho, Dembele, & Capoue all have one thing in common.
They have it all to do between now and the end of the season to prove they deserve to be in the team. They have to play and play well or they will be scouted out to look for buyers.
The decision to get rid has already been made on some of them and some others will simply get kept because there are too many to get rid of in 2 windows.
But its only when we get rid of a player that we can buy one in because our wages are at the limit now.
As a result, If we sell 3 of them and get in one good signing this Jan I'll be happy. We have more youth to come through this season and that has already helped us enormously. I don't think we're cut out for the top 4 yet but getting rid of the deadwood and playing players that give 100% all the time are the starts of a much better future.
Personally, at the moment I only want to keep Soldado and Dembele out of the list above. Maybe Lennon too as we wouldn't get a big fee for him.
I would actively try very hard to sell Townsend & Paulinho as I could imagine getting a half decent fee. And I'd let Ade go for peanuts because of his wages.
