Hello folks. I am looking at where to go after I have finished my contract in Norway, and have got my eye on Brisbane, can anyone give me the lowdown on the place.

Is it nice to look at? is the weather good? are the jobs plentiful? are the women hot? and are the people good sorts? do they like pommes? do they have a pub with all the Spurs matches? Many questions....

Mate, I'm from Adelaide originally, but currently living in Canada. Anyhoo, to answer yes to all of those questions, go to Perth.

Personally, Melbourne is the place to be IMO, but has London weather from May to September. Brisbane has better weather and would be a great place to live also.

Depends what you do for a crust too?

Anyone still post on this thread???? :)

Calling all Brisbane based yids, my wife and I are heading out that way at the begining of September. House sell going through, visas acquired in Jan and flights booked. Bricking it a bit but so excitied about coming back out again after a 5 year wait.

Want to meet up with some fellow spurs and still follow my much loved football team. Just glad I got in one season as a season ticket holder before I leave! Already gearing myself up for late nights too :)

Cheers all

Moving to Sydney

Hi all,

Moving out to Sydney soon for a two year project. Need to ask the following:

a) How much does it cost to get the prem and champs league on tv? Which packages and how do I go about getting it?

b) Where can I join a game 1/2 times a week for a 6 a side game or even a full game?
Regards

www.ozspurs.com is a great site sign up asap!

You just buy austar/foxtel which is like sky. You get basiclly every premierleague game at the push of a red button live. you will have to get used to waking up. Champions league is on SBS terrestial tv, and ESPN on austar/foxtel, they dont show all champs league but i hope they change it. Just get the basic package but make sure you get ESPN and Foxsports. You can get setanta for an extra $15 a month it shows england games, uefa cup , fa cup. although bit of a waste besides tht but i have it, espn shows soem england games to. SBS shows world cup. So much football on here.

B- Im not sure where in sydney but australia has alot of indoor football teams, go on ozspurs and go on the sydney forum and you could probly play for one of there five aside teams m8.

Good luck!

There is more live fotty on in Oz than at home, though as said you will have to get use to some late nights + early mornings!!

In the summer 3pm kick offs are at midnight, in winter they are at 2am!

RE playing footy, there is an indoor place at Mascot, which is near central Sydney, called SoccerCentral, plenty of matches going on there.

Thanks guys - put my mind at ease! Was afraid I would have to wait for a highlights reel and would end up being a Aussie rules fan.

As for getting up in the morning - anything for the mighty Spurs!!!

Thanks for the tips as well on the 6 a sides. No friendly leagues etc.?

Do the same answers apply to the above questions?

Yes and if you het Foxtel HD/IQ2 you can sometimes get different champs leagues games on ESPN HD to the normal ESPN on Foxtel.

As the others said more games on here than at home and we only missed out on 2 games last year of spurs both home and away!

Great - thanks a a lot everyone.

Hi guys, been working here in Melbourne for about a month now and my Foxtel connection coming next week. Was watching the games on my computer till now (eplondemand on the fox website).

They are not showing the Everton game though - is there any place in town which will surely be showing it?

Message from OZspurs Melbourne

Morning all, and what a great morning it is, with Spurs in the quarter finals of the Champions League!
The draw for the QF is on the evening of March 18.
Our next meet-up is for the West Ham home match on March 19, at the gloriously sensible kick off time of 1145 on a Saturday night.
I was thinking we should all go out before hand and get a bite to eat and have a few pints so I'm happy to take suggestions on that front.
Either way, get to the Charles Dickens Tavern, Collins St, City, and watch us send the Hammers back into the second division!
COME ON YOU SPURS

UPDATE

Hi all,
Don't forget, this Saturday night at the most excellent time of 1145pm we've got West Ham at home, so be at the Dickens (Collins St, City)from 10pm for a few pre-match ales and a singalong.
Don't forget, there's also the Champions League Quarter Final draw tomorrow night, once we know who we've got and when we're on I will try to sort out a venue.
The Casino looks most likely at this point which is a bit sh*t, but I'm trying to get them to put our game on the big screen at Federation Square if we're on SBS. Stay tuned.
