I get Showtime and you're right it's easier than going out. However sometimes it's just nice to have a few in the pub and watch it live.

Maktoum Bridge is too far to go for me - Springs :)

SLS - which Springs? I'm in 15.

Sorry mate, dont come in to 'abroad' much - Me? I'm in #3

I work in DIFC for Barclays. If you ever feel the need for some company during those Chelski/Scum/Pool/Manure matches which are shown, give me a bell. 050 189 0062 :)

Cool I work just across the road in Emirates Towers. Maybe we should catch up for a game.

The Underground's likely to be filled with Celtic supporters tonight isn't it? All scousers support Celtic..

I'm going there anyway if anyone's about.

Went to the Barasti Dome to watch the WC final last night - it was awesome! Great atmosphere, good music, great women, sad result.

Apparently it's going to be a nightclub for the rest of the summer. Not sure it can stay permanantly. 70's, 80's and 90's on a Friday - result!

Really entirely depends on what sector you work in and what designation. Obvious stuff but never more true in sunny Dubai!

Good luck - PM if you need some tips.

Else check dubaiforums out

Good Luck LMD, looks like it will be you and me then if RS is leaving!

Anyway, you can expect frustration, incredulation, perspiration and no taxation! Seriously annoying sometimes and then pleasantly surprising at others. The driving is mad, the rules are ridiculous, the rent is extortionate and the weather is hot. However having said that, the culture is colourful, the people are friendly (sometimes), the petrol is cheap and the lifestyle is relaxed.

Happy to help further if you have particular questions on living locations etc, feel free to PM. I'm usually in SC once a day!

HD?

Giggggggitttyyyy!! cant wait!

Yep - in HD. Coverage is really good - John Dykes (if you know him from ESPN Star) hosting and the normal commentators from the premier league - you can even watch it online.

Get a cable connection (i.e. either Evision or Du) so you dont have to mess about with decoders and things - just call up the call center and get what channels you want.

Im going to miss Saturdays - sit down from 3-4 in the afternoon all the way through to 10 at night.

Friday and Saturday generally the weekend here so no Sunday to wind down after a result! Its bloody aweful going to work the next day if Spurs lose!

Evision all the way (only because of where i live) - paid for twelve months and it cost a shade over 300dhs - bargain! Thats about 50 quid for all the Prem games, all season.
