Tottenham in for Kaboul and Begovic.

Sky Sports News understands that Tottenham are in talks with Portsmouth over Younes Kaboul and Asmir Begovic.

Kaboul only moved away from White Hart Lane in 2008 after spending just one season with Spurs.

He has since become an integral part of Portsmouth's defence and has earned rave reviews on the South Coast.

Indeed a host of clubs including Aston Villa, Manchester City and Sunderland had been looking to land him.

But Kaboul's former club have now emerged as favourites to secure his services.

Spurs are looking to make it a double swoop, as they are also understood to be in talks over Begovic.

The 22-year-old Bosnian international has impressed for Portsmouth this season and now Spurs are looking at sealing a deal.

Redknapp originally signed Begovic as a youth player in 2003 and is well aware of his potential.

Pompey's acceptance of the deal is likely to mean some loan players going in the opposite direction, one of which is likely to be Jamie O'Hara.

The next player from Pompey will be Kanu and after that Boateng.
  2. gdoguk22
Definitely Boateng next. Who else could we get? Lee Barnard was a goer but he's joined Southampton. Maybe Shwan Jalal. You've got to laugh at our transfer policy. What a joke

    Younes Kaboul..:bang::bang::bang::bang:

Why not get Avram grant to play for us as well..

    Bring back Jimmy Greaves!!!
  5. Teemu
Begovic is really promising though, be happy with that at least.

Maybe Yannick Kammanan and Johnathon Blondel as well :)

I did read somewhere (cant remember where tho) that Portsmouth stll owe us £££ for Kaboul, so we were willing to write it off and just take him back!

Dont know much about the other bloke...what position does he play?

Our scouting fees must be right down since old Harry come!!

I hear Emil Hallfredson's looking to leave Barnsley as well....

    Begovic - yes please

Kaboul - would like better (and someone who's never played for us before)

Keeper, is playing at the moment for them. Made a couple of good saves the other nite against the Spammers, probably won them the point.

i think its 2 good signings personally, a keeper Cb and a attacking mid/striker not sure on Eidur but we are not scoring enough atm and we need a CB and keeper badly.
  12. DC_Boy
    both signings would be good

begovic seems too good to be a back up GK tho
  13. Reece
    lmao at this ..

begovic looks like a good keeper and if he's willing to come as backup for the rather injury prone gomes then thats good. Kaboul im 50/50 on.

If these signings are a done deal then it looks as though Harry has acquired well considering what citeh can splash out. Harry has filled the positions that we we might be vunerable in regards to injuries.Gudjohnsen
adds experience and all this at a low price. I'm sure Levy approves. Why not bolster up a bit considering the prize of being in 4th spot, and I must say isn't the table good reading at the moment.

Whatever I think of Kaboul. Redknapp likes him. I remember him saying he tried to get him before he joind us in the first place.

If this happens then it will be because harry thinks that he can get the best out of him!

    If so, then why not!
  16. Chedozie
I don't understand why Kaboul is bad signing.

He is an excellent young player, the joke was that we sold him.

As Chedozie says: Kaboul is gradually turning into the player that he always looked to me that he could become. He's still very young for a defender. He's powerful, he's fast, he scores a lot of goals for a defender and he seems to be learning the necessary judgment, which was his weak point at 20.

The advantage of going for potential squad players like Begovic and Kaboul is that we can see that they already cope with Premiership football and we can get them for a very favourable price because Portsmouth are in such desperate circumstances. Basically, we are the buzzard and they are the carcass.

Why not have Avram as our manager
