Spurs is coming over for Barclays cup in July. Does anyone knows where we can get tickets for the games? I am based in Macau and want to head over for the game so if someone has any information then please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Batigol, and indeed anyone else thinking of coming over for the games.

Based on the last time HK hosted this tournament (2011), here's a bit of info that is partially based in fact, and partially in assumption.

First off, here's a rough prediction of the fixtures. Those schedules are definitely not concrete, just based on looking at the equivalent from two years ago.

Wednesday 24 July
6pm KO: Spurs vs Sunderland
8:30pm KO: Man City vs South China AA

Saturday 27 July
6pm KO: South China AA vs Sunderland
8:30pm KO: Spurs vs Man City

(Obviously Saturday's games are based on the assumption both we and Shitty win our games on Wednesday).

Now, some info regarding tickets -- this is what happened last time round:

Ticket prices for each match day in Hong Kong dollars (with all British prices an approximation) were: $130 (£10), $210 (£16.50), $270 (£21), $330 (£26), $460 (£36).
Ticket sales started from 1 June 2011 at Hong Kong Football Association and online at http://www.cityline.com.

More than two thirds of the 80,000 tickets available were purchased by Hong Kong football fans after just five days.

The last time Spurs were in HK was awesome. I'd recommend it to anyone and I might well make a repeat appearance!

Sounds great. Thanks for the tips and definitely looking to visit if I'm still in Macau by then. Tickets are decently so hope to get the big match against Mancs. Let's keep an eye on this inform each other when tickets are on sale then. We can all grab a beer after the game too!

i'm thinking about taking 10 days in Hong Kong in July as I'm 40 in June, so looking to have it coincide with our tour, where would be the best part to be based, and any hotel in particular. appreciate any advise.

Hi there Spursn17, an excellent way to spend your birthday.

Although, please note the tournament is at the end of July (July 24 - 27) not June, so you'll be delaying your celebrations by a month or so.

Having said that, it's definitely something worth waiting for - HK is a great place with lots of great people (mainly us, the Spurs HK contigent :p) and lots to see and do.

As for specific hotel, it depends a bit on your budget, but I'd recommend staying on the Hong Kong Island side as this is where most of the pre- and post- match festivities will take place.

Causeway Bay is definitely an area that might suit. It's always buzzing, has lots of shops and restaurants etc. and - importantly - close to the Hong Kong National Stadium where the games will be held, so that might be an idea.

It's also close to the boozers in Wanchai (including Delaney's Wanchai home of Tottenham HK), and not far from Central and Lan Kwai Fong (another drinking district).

To be honest wherever you stay, it's dead easy to get around. The public transport is second-to-none, cheap as chips, quick and clean and taxis are very reasonable too.

Starting fare for taxis around £1.75 and you never go more than about £4-5 for anywhere on the Island side, it gets up to around £8 if you go across the harbour - but then you'll not really need to go there.

I'd also recommend signing on to either the tottenham hk forum (http://www.tottenhamhk.com/forumframe.html) so that all the other spurs lads can give advice OR joining the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/216985788362209/

The guys over at the Chinese supporter's group are talking with the organizers about getting tickets as a group. Are SIHK doing anything similar? we should try and get all the yiddos sitting together on one end

try avoiding travelling around the city during peak hours (going to and leaving work time) as the MTR will basically be packed!
