Never seen a thread in here for us Irish, and after todays EL draw, perhaps we could organise something for when we come over to play Rovers? I know it's ages away but I think it's a good idea. Just need them to move the game to the Aviva.

So whaddya think? A goer?

Has it definetely been switched to the Aviva? An article in the Independent today seems to think they'll see how the public interest in the other two games (PAOK and Rubin at home) peaks?

I really hope they move at the least the Spurs game to the Aviva, although I work 5 mins from the Rovers ground.... just don't fancy my chances of getting a ticket for Tallaght!

Rovers spokesman at the draw yesterday said the spurs game will be switched to the aviva. Irish spurs fans alone would fill tallaght, it makes sense for all parties for the game to be switched.

According to UEFA rules all three home games have to be played at the same venue, so Rovers would have to get special dispensation from UEFA to have just the spurs game there.

Rover's might look at selling the tickets as a group package if all 3 games are to be held at the Aviva but their chairman has said that they would prefer to host the games at Tallaght. I think there are concerns about the attendance for the other two games and also about the pricing of the tickets for their own fans, especially if they are selling them as a package.

Lets hope it's the Aviva.

Saw Rovers getting battered 5-1 by Pat's at Richmond Park on good Friday and their young keeper, Oscar Jannson, on loan from Spurs didn't have a chance with any of them. Pat's were outstanding and played the over-hyped hoops off the park. The next day I saw Spurs away to Sunderland and two days later at home to Norwich. Pat's looked more like the team playing for the Champions League, I'm afraid.

As for Tottenham's player development, young Chris Forrester of Pat's got two fantastic goals, is just turned 19 and could be well worth signing. The full time training would make this fellow stronger, that's all he needs, he has the touch, the vision and the pace. He just needs bulking up.
Young Forrester looked the future Premiership player, not Oscar Jannson. Spurs have the wrong guy and at the wrong club..

One's a goalkeeper, the other (presumably) a striker. I don't see how having one precludes us with having another. As well, Jannson at 21 seems to be coming along nicely. I don't see how one game, where you said yourself he had no chance with any of the goals, would suddenly make him not Premiership material.

Taidgh, a chara,

Then have the two or more, lots of fine players here. Anyhow, Jannson is already signed and was already capped at under age for Sweden before Spurs recruited him, job done!.

Now, a priority is to identify and get new players of quality in Ireland before others get them.
Last year I was watching James McClean in the Derry shirt, last week I saw him fairly stretching Tottenham's defence. A pity he isn't at Tottenham instead, giving Spurs further options out wide and his ability was no secret last year either. But, while others stood off and dithered, it's all credit to Sunderland for signing James.

Former Pat's players that have made it in England include Paul McGrath, Curtis Fleming, Keith Fahey and Kevin Doyle.
They were all much older when they went to England, yet all made it for club and country. Chris Forrester is only just 19, so has those extra valuable years to develop physically and technically. He has a lot to learn and needs to develop physically but time is on his side.

I'm looking forward to watching Chris Forrester playing for St Pat's every week before he goes elsewhere, and as to his future, let's see who is left dithering this time.

I fear Dundalk will be next. It would be a shame to see one of the traditional big guns go completely.

My first Spurs match was at Oriel Park, CWC.

1-1 draw ?, think spurs won the 2nd leg 1-0 at the lane. Listened to the great Philip Green commentate on the game on the radio, he wasn't biased .... much !. To my shame I haven't been to see Cork city in ages, must go along this season, bit of a GAA head during the summer.
