Nigel Reo-Coker will be sold in the January transfer window after his astonishing bust-up with Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill.

Tottenham are keen to sign the midfielder, 25, for £6million.

Spurs tried to sign Reo-Coker in August and will resume their interest.

The training ground clash on Thursday between O'Neill and his player will not be swept under the carpet.

A club insider said: "Martin's word is law and he will not allow his authority to be questioned in this way.

"As soon as the opportunity becomes available Reo-Coker will be moved on.

"It was a staggering confrontation. There were no punches thrown but a load of swearing, pushing and shirt pulling.

"The manager was probably wrong to get involved but he will have the final word and that means curtains for Reo-Coker."

I know he isnt everybody's cuppa tea but I reckon he would be decent back-up for wilson. but then we have o'hara coming back in jan and i dont think there is much difference between the two. NRC gets his foot stuck in which is what we lack without wilson. Add to that he is a good athlete. He's a bit like Zoks IMO except he puts his foot in. Cant really offer much going forward though.

First there were the continental leagues with mid-week games, and the proposed upgraded Champion's League... now we have 24/7, 12 months a year Silly Season.

Let's all be honest and admit what we are really all after is more silly season in the press and that football is just a means to an end!

Every managers word is law, the problem is, Reo Coker is a law unto himself!

I love managers taking players on (especially Big I Am's like NRC) should be more of it!!!
Best story was Ron Atkinson (full on sheepskin coat) throwing windmills at Dalian Atkinson in the Villa shower!!

Back to NRC, I think he's a decent player but he thinks he's much better than he is (just like his mate Anton). His problem at Villa seems to be not being first choice & that won't change at Spurs.
Linked with him in the past so notw probably putting 2 + 2 together anyway.

Why do we want NRC when we supposedly have the Brazilian DM Sandro joining us in January?

Useful utility player to have I'd say, especially for 6m.
