According to Tribalfootball and The People, we are interested in signing Russian International winger Andrey Arshavin. This is a player I admire and rate highly, and I have actully talked about him to others around me - that I wanted us to sign him. Strange, but true.

I think he would be a great signing for us, but I am not sure about how much we have to pay to get him to Tottenham.

This is probably also just rumours, but I hope it is some truth in it.

Wasnt he supposed to be the Russians best player when England played them recently? I seem to remember him being pretty anonymous, was far more impressed with their leftie!

He is actually a good player, and I rate him as one of Russia's best players.

Spurs eyeing Zenit winger Arshavin

Not sure if this one has already been posted but saw this on Tribal Football. Looks like a decent enough player to me.

Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Andrey Arshavin is attracting interest from Tottenham.
Desperate to land a quality left-sided winger, Spurs boss Martin Jol has been offered the chance of signing Arshavin, says the People.

Andrei Arshavin

Am I out of the loop on this one? on the BBC transfer rumours page...

"Tottenham are closing in on Russia captain Andrei Arshavin, the 26-year-old Zenit St Petersburg midfielder. (The Sun)"

and even wikipedia state that he's on his way to us in the transfer window!..."At the end of the 2007 Russian Football Season, Arshavin looks set to leave St. Petersburg for the English premiership club Tottenham Hotspur, in the January transfer window."

...will be interesting to see this guy against England! but is he really likely to be first team class for us? or more likely a Milenko Amicovic mk II

p.s. Good name sounds like Arse Shaven...nice!
