The first, of course. Have you read the latest SiHK FC match report in the Hong Kong thread? A masterpiece.

Except more shopping malls and new residence units surrounding the KLCC area, KL hasn't changed much. I was back for a holiday during the Oct 1st holiday week, and stayed in Allson Genesis/Radius hotels.

Seems like most of the old favourites are still at Changkat Bukit Bintang, except Kingfisher. Anyone knows where is it now?

Bijan is in the Malaysia's Best Restaurants 2007 and got a 7 rating for food. Well done. btw, am I the only one who felt that this Tatler guide contains too many medicore restaurants in it? Even Top Hat got a mention (5-8-5)....

What KL really needs is its own edition of Time Out. Say from April 2008.

And what it needs even more than that is for me to be Editor-in-Chief of it.

How was the Radius? My apartment overlooks their pool. Looks reasonable.

Changkat's going from strength-to-strength. The new places such as 'twentyone', 'relish', 'al bait', and 'new moghul house' are very good.

The one good thing to recommend about Radius is that they have their own car park, which is really handy in the Changkat area. However, the room and the restaurant food are both very average and, worst of all, no internet access at the room.

Would have prefer Allson Genesis, which is cheaper and provide broadband access at a reasonable rate, but its car park can only accomodate about 10 cars, which is not adequate at all!

Timeout has a Beijing version (and a Chinese name to boot, somehow literally, it means "happiness" in Chinese) and is distributed freely in my office.

Yeah, I've seen that as we've been researching for our launch.

Obviously couldn't understand a bloody word, and it's much more Chinesey than the London, Chicago or NY editions, but wherever they are they're always good.

See, so would I get a free KL copy delivered to my Beijing address? :hello:

I hope you would include Orange in it, as it is the place we Malaysian Spurs gathered

You better believe it. We'll be listing everywhere. I can even list the fact that the Spurs supporters meet there for matches. I might struggle to convince my bosses that this should be a front cover story and lead feature, but you'll be amazed at the self-serving nonsense I can put into magazines.

Finally, we will become OFFICIAL!! Refer the letter to the president of our fan club, Jack:

October 24th 2007

Dear Jack

I am pleased to confirm that you have complied with all our rules and regulations relating to the setting up of an Official Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club. As such, you are authorised to describe your club as “Malaysia Spurs”.

Further, subject to our prior approval in writing, you may use the exclusive logo, Which I will be sending you very shortly (this should also be used for the layout of how to describe your supporters’ club) for the purposes only of your headed notepaper and website. For the avoidance of doubt, both the licence to use the exclusive logo and the right to describe yourself as an Official Supporters Club are entitlements, which may be terminated by us at any time for any reason without notice.

Would you please ask that your members who are applying for Club Membership clearly state that they are part of Tottenham Hotspur Malaysia so that we can identify them and ensure that they are appended to your supporters’ club.
Details of how to purchase home league match tickets together with allocations that may apply will be forwarded to you once we have the fixture list.

We will from time to time have special offers that are exclusive to our supporters’ clubs and you will be notified of any offer via email. We will also offer you the chance to present your award to your player of the year should you wish to do so if you or any of your members have the opportunity to come over.

Your liaison for the Club will be myself and I will be happy to answer any queries you may have. My email address is [email protected]

On behalf of the Club I would like to thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at White Hart Lane in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

Kay Lovelock

Go Malaysia! But what do you get for all the aggro and money? I enquired several times earlier this year about how to set up an official supporters' club here and despite two or three promises from the club they never sent me anything - a useless back office as well as useless on the pitch. I gave up chasing them and will use my correspondence with them in mitigation later as we remain unofficial.

That's ridiculous, but sypmtomatic of the way the club is run at present. It's being fattened up for a takeover and fuck everything else.

So, you KL dwelling folk - http://www.klworld5s.com/

Didn't this start yesterday? Or today? Or something?

How's it going so far, is there plenty of coverage for it? Seen a stream advertised for the Eng -v- Oz game, might tune in see what it's like

Yeah, it's getting loads of promotion from ESPN.

I watched the first part of Iran Vs Brazil yesterday. There were about 8 people in the stadium, which was a shame. Doesn't bode well for the Masters footy event later this year.

As I understand it, England are very much a developing nation in futsal. Barely ever played together, aren't used to the rules, get pumelled by even the minnows of the game, and generally disgrace themselves.

*Insert your own "No different to the 11-a-side team/Is their manager Steve McLaren?" joke here.

Yeah, from what i read last night, it's very "bells n whistles" from the organisers, but hardly anyone local appears to know it's even happening

Us and Holland are the two whipping boys, it sounds like - Iran i never had down as a likely competitor and a lot of people are talking about the Oz team as "The best of the Asia-Pacific Rim" and all that (and now i'm glad it's unlikely Bomber will wander in here  )

Hey all,

Its been almost a year since i last posted here, and before i knew the season is done and dusted as well as EURO.

Just getting back into the groove of things, and see that the "oldies" are still the, well, oldies.

Bill_Oddie, if i'm not mistaken it was you who asked me to propose more expat content on ntv7. Now i'm a asst. producer here, and pushed a lil bit for the expat content. make sure you catch "Malaysia my 2nd home".

You played a part in its conception!

That was you?! Awesome.

I was invited to get involved in some form of sponsorship level but one of the guys interviewed is this weirdo old bloke who runs a competitive mag to ours. He constantly wrote negative stuff in his rag about us and after several polite requests, we had to sue him. We won and he had to pay us RM100,000. I only mention this as technically if he even mentions or makes an inferrence about Expatriate Lifestyle (my own little mag) then he'll be violating his court order. Don't worry though, we won't sue you!

Anyway, I was really pleased to hear about the programme and if you do want any of it written about in Expat lifestyle just let me know. I'd be more than happy to do an interview with one of the people in it (I know Tom Hayton very well and I think he's one of the guys you're covering). Should be good content for us and we can drive viewers to the show.

Good luck with it and I'll certainly be tuning in.
