Better for him to be there right now. Getting a lot of minutes and doing great. I hope he's here next season as Kane and Mason have shown a lot of passion which I hope he also has when he gets his chance.

To be fair Carroll was excellent for us under AVB but should have been given more opportunities as he was clearly better than what we had. I'd love a midfield of him and Mason pulling the strings. I hope it wasn't a season long loan - but knowing us it will have been.

I haven't seen too much of him apart from the games against Stoke and Arsenal.

He was OK in both those games, he certainly didn't have me shaking my head in disbelief that we let him go.

Unlike Siggy of course.

Hopefully they’ll offer us 4m for him at the end of the loan spell and we can add that to our humungus transfer kitty!!!

I tell you playing for Tottenham is a big pressure having the right mental strength is so important our crowd/support are so demanding. ..take Sigurdsen his now playing to a level we've seen at spurs imo but with less media focus is getting ratings.

I hope Carroll can make it at Spurs I really hope so I think our own development players will give that extra push.

If I am not mistaken those comments by Monk, quoted by the DM, were the exact comments he made at the time TC signed on loan, and were not made recently!
“He's a very good footballer who will very much suit us.
"I've spoken to a lot of people who have trained with him and coached him and they speak very highly of him."
