This for me is our biggest problem. Poch should never had taken on the spursy comment or did we should be taken seriously until you know you stamped this shit out. In all honesty, he should have assessed after Xmas period was finished before declaring our excellence.

He should carry on building on the phenomenal work he has done and is doing.

I think the number of games have finally caught up with the team. In the second half, they could hardly run, barely could muster enough energy for square passes.

Agreed that the number of games caught up Vs Wolves, pedestrian build up and certain big time players went missing!

Although frustrating, are or were we ever title contenders based on the squad depth and Wembley.

Poch is doing a fantastic job and if we land Top 4 and a Trophy ? it will be another step in the right direction.

Well, we don't have the right players to win the league. We have the right players to perform rather well and that's fantastic. But to actually win the league, we haven't recruited enough quality players to the starting line-up. Looking at our 11 best players when everybody is fit, we haven't added in a long time and some of them have effectively reached age of retirement whilst not replaced.

Yesterday was very poor. It exposed the crisis we’ve had almost all season in central midfield. Dier/Sissoko/Winks/Eriksen have performed incredibly to hold the line thus far but we hit the wall yesterday. I’m sure we’ll bounce back, Pochettino is the man, but we could really do with a top class CM now that the great Dembélé show appears to be over. When the game needed to be gotten control of, we brought on Moura and they brought on Moutinho. It showed up the weakness in our ranks as we couldn’t face them down in the middle of the pitch. We’ve been playing without a proper central midfield for quite a long time now.

Talk about a reality check! They always like to get us believing before humiliating themselves and the fans with a result like yesterday. No proper title contender will ever lose 1-3 at home to that team, that’s for sure. Just love losing to the shit ‘W’ teams some seasons.

*I’m just still annoyed, but I’m sure we’ll end up doing well enough this season.

Being honest though, did you ever see us as genuine title contenders? I always get irritated with people in the media because I feel that they create the hype and then Spurs fans get accused of being deluded when we don't live up to it but a lot of people on the match thread seemed to believe that we were contenders. I kind of find it hard to grasp that we were ever genuinely in with a chance.

The measure of our achievement should be how far up the league we finish and how far we get in the cup competitions against the player investment and the fiasco of the home stadium.

Top 4 and a serious cup run! Should any fair minded person expect more this season, all things considered?

Title race? We’re at the halfway point. 57 points to play for. Liverpool could finish 3rd or 4th, Chelsea could win it. United could be in the top 3. Far too early to be calling anyone as dead certs.

Very telling that we only had Lucas Moura to bring on as a possible game changer. The rest of the bench just didn't appear to provide the same difference the way a Man City, or Liverpool bench would. The number of injuries to key players in the same position is a joke; Dembele, Wanyama & Dier would have been 100% used, however, its fallen on Winks & Sissoko to do a job, which is never easy when you only have 48-72hrs rest.

As dumb as it sounds, we need to shift a number of players in order to allow us to provide better depth to other positions. We only really have Lamela, Son & Moura as wide-forwards & that will be 1 less for January when Son goes. We'll need someone to cover there, as well as another body in midfield. The likes of GKN, Llorente & Janssen are never going to be of real use, therefore, need to cut them loose.

Its not all doom & gloom, but its going to be tough with the volume of games coming up, but we need to add at least 2 more to freshen up the team.

I agree, we aren’t realistically in with a chance. I guess I’m just bitterly disappointed in the manner in which this side seems to capitulate straight after doing so well. They always manage to pull the rug from under my feet. And I fall for it every time!

Results like that are frustrating. It did seem like one of those games that could trip us up though. I had it down as a score draw but I didn't expect a defeat. I don't think that there is one answer to why we do this: mentality, in game management, lack of bench options...

Not enough midfield options and too many games to play is probably the answer. Poch should react quicker sometimes too I reckon.

All of the above is the answer.
