We have signed 3 players, you know.

Alderwield looks like he's a first choice. Most on here seem to think Trippier will be as well, so what's your problem? That's 2 first teamers right there and there's still over a month to go.

Like @davidmatzdorf says, this window was all about getting rid of players the coach doesn't need. Considering how bad levy has been in this regard I thought you'd would be happy with that
I just said what the problem was in the last post, a reminder again the the season starts next week and the game is against Man Utd. We've had over 5 months to identify targets!

Fuck me, mullers. We are never going to sign all our targets before the start of the season. Be happy we've got 3 in.

Anyway, we might do another deal in the next week (berahino).

It's not me that has to be happy it's Poch he's the coach, he is the one that came out in the press. He came out in the press because he wasn't happy with Levy's stance.

Berahino we will only get if we pay something close to WBA's valuation of 25 million, in my mind he's not worth that and has a bad attitude to boot.

You don't know anything for sure, mate.

Poch could be very happy with how things are going so far. Likewise WBA might except a bid close to £20mil.

I can't imagine poch is displeased with levy getting rid of the players he wants to get rid of. I'd imagine he knows what levy used to be like in this regard so if anything this widow shows that they're both on the same page and there is a mutual respect and understanding.

I doubt Poch is very happy we have an incomplete squad at the moment those that come in will not have a preseason with Poch.

I also doubt that WBA will except a bid close to 20 million, they don't really need to sell and the guy is young, his value will go up if he remains in form for another season. But in any case if we are going to go for the player we need to start making some moves now not on transfer deadline day.

Jesus, you're impossible to please.

Just except the fact that we will NEVER get all out business done early, It's nigh on impossible. Be happy that we've got more than half our summer signings in for pre season, will ya.

I mean, do you expect us to shift 10 players and make all our signings before the first game, do you really expect that to happen?

Once again it isn't me that has to be happy it's Poch, he knew the situation before he commented in the press, he was very clear about what he wanted and I actually don't think it is impossible to get business done before the start of the season, the key is to go after affordable targets, I mean that is why Mitchell is there right?

Look, at the end of the day, you're putting waaaaaay to much emphasis on 1 comment poch made in 1 press conference. I'm sure he would like every single signing in before the start of pre season, what manager wouldn't, but I'm also sure he understands that this is not really realistic.

Our defence was shit last season and he's got 3 defenders in before the start of pre season, that, I'm Sure, he appreciates. Just as I'm confident that he appreciates that levy isn't dilly dallying around with getting the deadwood out the door, especially when he knows what levy has been like in the past.

See, I can do this "let's guess how poch feels" game.

Do you not find it strange and surprising that a usually very cagey manager in press conferences such as Poch would come out and deliver a message like that to the board?
“It’s important we do our business early. To work hard during the season and take early decisions.

“If you punch before the opponent, you have half of the job done.
'we need to be cleverer than the teams who invest more than us'

We sold a DM haven't replaced him, no back up for Kane so if he gets injured we're screwed, it doesn't seem to clever to me.

How do you know he's referring to incomings only? We have done business early. In case you haven't been paying attention we've shifted Kaboul, Capoue, paulinho, Stambouli, holtby and vlad and Ade look close, we've also signed Wimmer, alderwield and tripper with berahino and a CMF not looking a million miles away either. How is that not doing business early?

Even UTD, who've got a fortune haven't done all their busie as yet, they need a defender or 2 and perhaps a striker. Chelsea as well need to get 1 or 2 in. Arsenal still haven't got Vidal or that DMF they need (and a striker) Liverpool are the only exception but that's because they sold sterling.

As you said, we only need back up for Kane so it's not exactly the end of the world if we do t have one in for the UTD games, coz, you know, we have Kane.

I very much doubt he was referring to outgoings in this instance sell players early but its ok if we get players in late missing the first game of the season and with no preseason with the coach. it doesn't sound very logical and he seems to be a guy that likes to prepare. Vlad I agree is close to be done anything can happen with Ade though.

There is no bid for Beranhino or a CMF so it is a million miles away.

I'm not concerned with what Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal are doing, they are champions league clubs, we just aspire to be one.

To give ourselves the best chance the squad needs to be ready for the new season, if you have to go into a game against one of the top 4 using a defender as a DM and just praying that your main striker doesn't get injured because you have no back up, that's not what I call being ready.

But from a risk point of view, it's practical to get people off the wage bill before you add more onto it, would you agree?

To be fair, levy got people in quick in Trippier and Wimmer, we then sold some, now we're looking to add now we've got space.

We're both guessing with regards to how poch is feeling about the window thus far so I suggest we wait until after the UTD game until we make any wild assertions about being unprepared. We could smash em for all we know.

Does this rank as a particularly bad window, in your opinion? For me, we've not sold our best player, so off to a winner there, we've trimmed the squad of players we have no use for, added some depth to the squad, (and first team in alderwield) and we are still looking to improve further.

When you compare that to other windows I don't think it's bad at all.

We got in Trippier and Wimmer without selling anyone, so I think continue in that vain whilst trying to sell players. Providing the coaches list of players isn't too long.

As regards to this window it's good that we have managed to get rid of some deadwood, so that's good. In regards to who we brought in, well that's a tricky area, I only see TA as a guaranteed first teamer, I hope Trippier will be better than Walker and Wimmer is a squad player for now, I don't know if he will better than Fazio or not.

I'm not sure if Man Utd are going to offload DeGea if they do that could trigger movement on the Lloris front.

I think it would be a bad window if we don't end up with a DM having sold both Stambouli and Capoue and if we don't get a striker because we've had lots of time to plan targets.

Selling two DMs and then possibly using a defender as a DM in the first game of the season, it just isnt good and I hope that the situation doesn't occur.

You're being miserable.

Be happy the football is back. Less time with the mrs, more time in the pub.

It's not me mate it's the coach that needs to be happy, you guess that he is, I guess that he is not.

Previous coaches haven't been happy that they haven't got players that they identified. One left by mutual consent, Ramos thought about resigning over the issue before he was eventually sacked...I'd just hate to see more manager turmoil.

We need cover for Kane we just don't have anyone else we can rely on. Ade and Soldado haven't got goals recently and we can't be sure that Kane will repeat last season's heroics. I'm hoping that Berahino is coming because I rate him and once that's done, we can loan Ade (I don't see anyone buying him) and sell Bobby. If there's an injury crisis we can recall Ade.
