Surprised some of these are gonna play 90. A couple are knackered.

Davinson Sanchez came on for Lamela

This means either

A) 3 at the back

B) Davies LB and push KWP forward

TJ Eyoma will be our only outfield player not to play today. He should’ve come on for CCV and prove himself

I enjoyed that.

Amos took his chance and Lucas Moura ran the show. Excited to see him next season

Oliver Skipp was aggressive when he came on which I like

And I like the 4-3-3 system we used today

Good night/morning

He'll get minutes over the next two games I'm sure. Huge experience just to be on the tour at his age.

Amos was quite decent.

With Wanyama injured and Dier not back until late in the preseason, I wonder if he might get an opportunity against Newcastle.

Good for fitness, the press was maintained pretty much from start to finish.
Although the football played in the match (by both teams) was a bit like Benny Hill on Crack...

Pleased for Moura, he looked a bit light weight to start with but grew into the game and had Lamela-esque energy levels, Lamela was the headless chicken Lamela, although no one looked like they really had the courage to take time on the ball but i am sure that will come when the levels are up.

Amos showed well though and never hid in the face of their press.

Lucas the MOTM and really happy see Amos play well. The field wasn't the best but it was good to see us try and play from the back and try 1-2s here and there. We're really 2-3 players from being a threat next season if we play with this 433 system. Hope we can get a quality CM and Grealish in this week.

Not doing the generic do we need X player cos we have X player who played great in a friendly but if we're going 3 at back I've no idea how you'd fit another attacking player into getting enough games. Lucas would rotate with Son, Lamela would rotate with Dele, then you've probably got Grealish backing up Eriksen, Winks will be fit soon. Kane always starts, I don't know how if you signed Zaha there wouldn't be a guy who literally wouldn't start a single game.

Not basing it on that game but i really think we should forget getting a winger if we're going 3 at back and buy a starting CM instead.

All in all a good showing. Nobody had a poor performance. If I were going to quibble I would say CCV is still a little stiff, and Davies a few wayward passes.

I think Aurier has a good shot at a straight rotation in this setup, and I think he may outperform Trippier on the year. Sissoko was not terrible in this setup.

I thought Amos took his chance we'll tonight, looked composed.

Sanchez only got a few minutes, but he looks ready to compete with anyone for a spot

Gazzaniga does not look comfortable with the ball at his feet, so hard to see him as a longterm replacement for Lloris.

He might, I think the hardness of the field didn't particularly favor our playing style. At times his 1st touch would fail him and he under hit some passes. I still think he'll win Poch over and end up playing some part for us this season.

Hard to see us going 3 at the back right now - aside from too many attackers, not enough CBs

We played most of the match in a 4-3-3 with Eriksen in CM. Becomes quite obvious how we fit another in in that context.
