you saw more of Amos playing in his actual position compared to Onomah's time here too

Blah blah blah. Everyone knows better than Pochettino where to play Onomah. Just accept the guys not good enough. Apart from the U20 World Cup I’ve never seen him play well 2 games in row Infact for a whole 90 minutes. He might show the odd moment every now and again but it’s never sustained and his work rate is shocking.

Amos looked good. Worked his ass off, was quick, played the ball with purpose. However , was it me or did he not look super comfortable receiving the ball from the back. Didn’t seem to have a sense of how much time he had. Compare that with Winks who is so comfortable receiving the ball under pressure. Nevertheless, it was Amos first start so he probably was a bit nervous. Looks good on the whole.

It’s really his first ever game at this level and Roma were pressing hard. Sure that’s something that would improve with experience and confidence. I don’t think it’s a technique thing.

Just got back from the open training. Yup no Victor, and Lamela came out about 30 mins later than everyone else and just ran slow laps and some stretch work, about 40 mins so so give or take, didn’t join group activity. Looks shy (the usual) but upbeat; did waved back to the fans a couple times while doing the laps. Hopefully just precaucious measures.

According to reports these past few days, we have a string of injuries. The dry and hard pitches taking their toll.

I was hoping we'd have one of those lucky seasons every other team seems to have every few years where we don't get many injuries. Leicester 15/16 and Chelsea 16/17 were ridiculously lucky on that front. Hoping none of these injuries are major.

Very impressed with Amos. I always like the defensive midfielder who also makes the occasional run forward - shows he reads the game well, understands where his team mates to cover him, and has the courage to step up and not just sit in a little comfort pocket.

Skipp also looked to have a bit about him, hadn't seen him live (to tape), just highlights and I can see why there is hope for him.

Moura is my pick for suprise of the season, not just for us but in the PL. If we are going to use 4-3-3 more, which I like, I think he can hit 15 league goals at least.

Sounds like Lamela has picked up a bit of an injury. Sounds unlikely he will feature tonight.

Probably for the best. Save him for the start of the season. The pitches that the teams are playing on are tough on joints, I imagine Lamela is feeling it in his hips.

This. We always get fucked by injuries. If Vardy or Mahrez had been out for a month it would have been a different story. Plus neither clubs had European matches in the seasons they won it.

Genuinely concerned about our midfield with Winks, Wanyama, hell even Onomah carrying injuries, and Dembele only ever a feather tap away from one.
