Full strength or not lol these are still a very very very poor team.

Our B team are not even showing effort or intensity thats the worrying thing.

Its also very likely 4/5 of this team have to play some part in the squad at st James is park.
It’s a friendly. About fitness. Why are they going to play as if it’s a cup final and risk injury. Of course there isn’t much intensity. It will be a different story once the season starts.

This is a hard lesson to learn for our youngsters
This is a good lesson imo.

Its better to know how much work is ahead, than to think you have almost made it. The US tour was a bit deceiving for some of these players because those teams were also playing youth players. Now, up against a full squad, and you can see there is a difference in class.

It's needed. So often you get told in the youth thread that these players have shown this and that in youth games and are unfairly not getting chances in the first team. It's entirely different playing against men.

Girona have been physical as well they've struggled to deal with that.

But its a mans game if you want to show you are ready this is your chance.
Totally agree our kids have no devil in them it seems all to nice and soft :)

This is spot on.

A lot of these youth boys out there today have came out a bit too arrogant for me thinking they've played well vs the other teams in pre season but now they are playing actual professionals they are way off the level its good for them to have the wake up call.

Nothing wrong with being confidence but its been dented quickly with them.

Bit suprised Lloris, Kane, Vertoghen, Trippier and Alderwield have had not preseason games at all this season. The final was almost 3 weeks ago.

To me this just sums up what a shit show spurs management is. Its a pointless friendly but why arrange it in the first place?
Clearly someone somewhere thought it would be a good idea.
But i'd love to know what the club gains from this apart from poch having more reason for knocking on levy door in the morning and saying look we are fucked for next week.what have you been doing for the past 3 months to earn your massive salary.none of the players i wanted moving in or out have happened.

They are legally required to have 3 weeks holiday time as part of the PFA rules.

Poch’s post match comments are going to be very interesting tonight me thinks. I can’t not see him piling some pressure on wee Danny boy.

Think theres a certain compulsory number of holiday days clubs have to give players a year and sadly the quota doesn't end until the Monday where as a lot of the players for other clubs came back early none of ours have offered to do so...or Poch has told them they must take the full holiday.

You answered your own concern - "almost" three weeks ago.

They will be back after 3 weeks holiday - where most are also working on their fitness.

Fecking hell, I didn't even realise we were playing and people are wetting the bed like it's a cup final.
No-one is wetting the bed. Some of us don't let our team getting embarrassed in the last preseason game is all. It's not the biggest deal just not nice to watch.
