Think they will reduce the capacity If they're worried?

If so, got a feeling us on the top tier might be getting an email telling us we're being relocated...

I would bet money that the Met want spurs to pay for the overtime required to work New Year’s Eve and make sure the piss throwing knuckle draggers from both sides bring in 2018 away from A+E

Dad wants to get me and him tickets for xmas. No official word until now when sales dates were originally over a week ago. Still no word when they’ll actually be on sale either.

I hope that’s not true. I already can’t go to the Boxing Day game because of the trains/time. Hopefully the underground is working ok that day, I guess it will be on nye.

It will be - doesn't the Underground get heavily sponsored by a company (or companies) on NYE, which pretty much pays for the staff overtime, etc?

IIRC Fosters used to sponsor the free tube from midnight to last trains.

Can't think why anyone would claim overtime on NYE, isn't it just a normal day ?

Great..... Just great...

2.15pm kick off for you guys... Means it's... 10.15pm for me.... So.. 90mins + 15mins half time... Plus additional time will put the match to be going on when it's countdown time..........

Now I need to...

A. Get out of a NYE countdown with my gf...
B. Try to end the phone call she will give me at 11.59pm ASAP...
C. Hope it doesn't ruin both NYE and NY day for me...........

From what I have seen TFL operates as normal on News Years Eve, I assume normal for a Sunday, with free travel from 23.45. Trains though will be different and for me using South Eastern is out as there are no trains to any of the three main London stations I would normally go so it is car or nothing

I know its often commented that clubs/the EPL should stand up to Sky/BT when asked to move games to ridiculous times, but this seems to be a first in that both Spurs and the EPL have released a joint statement effectively publicising concerns that match cannot be policed. Its crazy that this hasn't already been thrown back at Sky by the EPL with a statement from an appropriate police chief/commissioner stating that no London derby can be adequately policed on New Years Eve when resources are already stretched.

I have a bad feeling that Sky are acknowledging the policing concerns, but want us to play in front of a limited capacity rather than move it.

The other problem appears to be - I kid you not - Peter Pan. On both the 29th and 30th of December he has three shows on at Wembley Arena to sold-out family audiences, so in the region of 35,000 people. Presumably they don't want running battles between us and the anti-Semites as the backdrop for the children's Christmas treat, which would mean we can't really play the match on those dates either. And we can't move it over to New Year's Day because we're away to Swansea on the 2nd and both sets of supporters will have already sorted tickets, travel etc.

Absolute omnishambles.

The match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United due to take place on 31 December 2017 has been rescheduled to 20:00 GMT on Thursday 4 January 2018.

The League selected this match for 31 December with the expectation that a regular crowd capacity would be able to attend.

However, despite significant work by all parties to achieve this, ultimately the Safety Advisory Group at Wembley Stadium would only recommend a maximum crowd of 43,000.

This was due to transport issues, primarily at local Tube stations whose resources were being deployed elsewhere across London on New Year’s Eve.

Following discussions with the clubs involved, and Sky Sports, a decision was taken to seek an alternative date that would allow far more fans to attend the match.
