Hate to pick holes but if the FA cup winner is in top four the Europa place goes to the runner up (this doesn't happen with lge cup but does with FA cup i.e. Hull this season)

Basically
7 teams in Europe (8 if champs lge or Europa lge winner is not in top 7)
4 x champs lge
1 x Europa lge via lge finish
1 x FA cup winners (runner up if winner has already qualified via lge, if both have qualified via lge finish then extra place goes to next lge finish)
1 x Lge cup winner (if winner has already qualified via lge extra place goes to next lge finish)
Wrong - the rules changed for this season. If the winners of the FA Cup are already qualified the place will now go to the next best placed League team/

I love us playing in Europe but I hope we don't quality this season. It's taken too much out of us, new season and a push for champions league football.

quite torn - part think that a finish just outside europa position gives us a good shot at top 4. The other side is that the additional games this year gave us Harry Kane.....perhaps next year Prich uses Europe to move from squad to first team

This is much simpler now.

3rd+ puts us into the Champions League Group Stage.
4th puts us into the Champions League Playoff, unless Arsenal win the Champions League and come 5th or lower whilst Everton win the Europa League, in which case we go in the Europa League Group Stage.
5th puts us into the Europa League Group Stage.
6th puts us into the Europa League Third Qualifying Round (one stage before the playoffs), unless a team finishing 5th or above wins the FA Cup (so possibly United, Woolwich or Liverpool) in which case we enter the Europa League Group Stage.
7th puts us into the Europa League Third Qualifying Round only if a team finishing 6th or above wins the FA Cup, else we fail to qualify for Europe unless England is in the top 3 UEFA nations for Fair Play and achieves a minimum average score of 8.0, and we are the highest Premier League side in the Fair Play table, in which case we enter the Europa League First Qualifying Round.
8th or below sees us fail to qualify except under those highly unlikely fair play criteria - whilst England are third at the halfway point and thus in line for an extra Europa League place, Tottenham lie 16th in the table. If awarded to England, this spot is currently set to go to West Ham, who would enjoy European football starting on the 2nd of July.

So if I had my way then I'd want us to finish 4th or 8th! ha!

I realise that's quite a difference but I'd really like to see what we can do in the Prem without the hassle of Europa League, assuming we can't get to 4th.

I believe Liverpool will now get 3rd and I have pretty much let that go.

4th is gonna play out between us, Man Utd, Arsenal and Saints. The odds aren't good. I think Saints will fall away unless they can suddenly sort out their goal scoring problems.

Man Utd are shite but keep winning but even so I'd like to think they won't get there. So that leaves the same old tussle between us and Arsenal. The only difference I see this year is that we are far more resilient than we used to be and can grind out a result.

The down side is that whichever way you spin it, I see us finishing no lower than 7th which will more than likely lead to Europa League qualification. Boooo.

we'll have to hope the other english sides don't do the same then as there's a big chance england could lose it's 4th cl qualifying spot for the following season.

No, there isn't. Italy is still a long long way behind us in the rankings.

The Italian threat?
As is evident above, England's coefficient has dropped significantly over the last season.

Germany and Italy's rankings are certain to improve before the end of this season after strong performances from their sides.

Italy - currently with just three Champions League qualification places - still has all six of its qualifying sides for 2014/15 in Uefa competitions.

Five are in the last-16 of the Europa League, with at least one guaranteed a quarter-final place.

But, there is still a considerable 14-point gap between England and Italy, suggesting a top-four Premier League finish will secure Champions League qualification for a while yet.

yes and if you bothered to understand how these coefficients work then you'd know how/why most of that 14 point gap is about to evaporate. for one, once this season has finished, the 10-11 season points are wiped, that's a 7 point advantage gone. england only has three teams left in european competition this season(with arsenal and city on the brink of elimination), italy have six, they will gain more points than england over the next couple of months unless our teams somehow turn it around and theirs all get eliminated. after next season, the 11-12 season points will be wiped, that's another 4 point advantage gone so that's 11 points gone that england can't get back, if italy's teams outperform england's teams next season then there's a great chance that the epl will lose its 4th cl spot.

If - A big if - Our campaign next year is in the Europa League then I would like to see the kids being given
A free rein in this .. But also a reduction in ticket prices to reflect this.

It was relatively cheap this year? No more than £25 a ticket and good family rates.

Aha, OK, point taken. I just felt for all the fans in the last few years who faithfully attended those home legs too e serve up a cold dish of nonsense football.

Maybe not on the night but in latter stages which could have and should have been so different.
