The Dutch Under-21 international, who helped Ajax reach the 2017 Europa League final, is rated as one of the best talents to have emerged in Holland in recent times.

He has been watched by Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund but is ready to stay in the Dutch capital until the end of this season when he will then reassess his situation.

Just been called up to the National team. That’ll add on another 20 million to his price.

Even the story says it is not a story.
Transfer speculation for season after this.
More Mystic Meg than hard news.

Doubt Levy will pay what Ajax will want/get for him. Missed the boat on this one IMO. Would have been a top replacement for Dembele though.

We should be scouting talent like this, but I believe this past window was when we needed to act if indeed interested.

Yes, transfers are complex, but we could have maybe stole a march on our competitors by way of signing de Jong and loaning him back to Ajax for a season.

Of course, he might not fancy Spurs at all, o_O but we do have a few ex Ajax players who have worked out rather well in the famous Lilywhite shirt, one would hope we'd be a consideration.
