I'm sure we've been linked with de ligt, 17 yo Ajax cb

Certainly not ready yet. Obviously a great prospect, but was called up (too early) to the Netherlands team, and was at fault for both goals in a defeat and the manager got sacked the next day.

I think the Premiership would destroy him and he's too advanced in his development to go to the Academy, but probably a good one to keep tabs on for a couple of years

Now the TW is over time to get our scouting boots on. The obvious one from the Transfer Rumours Forum is Gelson Martins but the less obvious player we should look at is his Sporting team mate Daniel Podence, in my opinion he is a new Eden Hazard. Enjoy.

How about we buy both ? (y)

I watched the first half of that Podence reel (then the music made me stop) and I can't work out if the League is particularly agricultural or if the lad would just rather draw a foul than actually go past someone.

I watched him live for Portugal in the U-21s this summer and trust me he is unreal, goes past people for fun and shoots with very limited back lift.

Seeing that we have been linked with Rafinha at Barcelona, 24 Years Old, 25 in February. Always really liked the way he plays, he is a very slick elegant midfielder who can create and score goals and be a general menace! He has 8 goals in 48 apps for Barca, which for a central midfielder I think is a great return, considering he makes most of his appearances from the bench!

His brother, Thiago Alcantara, plays at Bayern, but represents Spain, whilst Rafinha represents Brazil (2 caps, 1 goal) and their dad is Mazinho, who won the World Cup with Brazil in '94 (Before my time - born in '97), and his cousin, for anyone who cares, is Rodrigo, who is a forward/winger who has played for Benfica, Valencia, and Spain.

I think he would be a great signing, he comes from the Barca academy, and with them having a lot of Central midfielders, he is a little down the pecking order. Has that winners mentality and a fairly decent honours list, so the winning mentality we need!

Like I said, only a rumour, but I think he could be quite a coup for us, probably more likely to get him over Gomes IMO

watching psg vs lyon and tanguy ndombele for lyon has stood out. 20 year old combative cm in the wanyama mould but also looks pretty adept at breaking forward, should've won a penalty early in the game but the ref bottled it. lyon also have a mendy at lb who looks and plays very similar to his city namesake.

edit: just thundered a shot off the bar from 30 yards (ndombele that is) -
