Spurs are already preparing their transfer targets for next summer, judging by today’s report that they’ve picked out a player in Portugal for a future bid – and not just any player, but one that they allowed to leave at the age of 20. Marcus Edwards could be in line for a long-awaited return to north London.

Looking at the squad it's no surprise if we're a bit desperate to get a club trained player in before we're back in UEFA competition next season. Guess Edwards in would mean Brennan Johnson remaining more of a left wing option in competition with Solomon - while Edwards would compete with Kulusevski.

Would he want to come back? We didn't rate his attitude if I remember right.

I know I say this every few months for the last 3 years when this link keeps rearing it's head, but I'd be very very surprised if we ever took him back.

Ideal clickbait headline, given there are many Spurs fans who still have a soft spot for our former mini-Messi.

Yeah but this piece is from “3 added minutes” so must be true.

If there's anything I love more than swooping. It's swooping by surprise.

um.

There is more chance of promoting Jamie Donnelly, I would think. He looks a good maddison replacement. Won’t cost anything and will settle for bit part game time
