ADEL Taarabt revealed that QPR have been back for him in the last few days – but the midfielder doubts whether Rangers can afford his transfer fee.

The £5million rated Moroccan was a huge hit during his two loan spells for Rangers, including a goal against Preston that was rated in the top two of the Championship last season.

His dazzling performances in hoops garnered him lavish praise at Loftus Road, and the good news is the 21-year-old has already pleaded with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to let him go.

But Taarabt doubts very much whether the Premiership club will make it easy for Rangers to secure a permanent deal.

He said: “I know QPR want me – there has been contact this week. But I think Spurs want too much money for me and at the moment, I’m as lost as anyone else.

“And I won’t lie to you – I want to play in the Premiership. So. If a club from there was interested, I would have to take that seriously.”

For all that, the man who has seven caps for his country was impressed when Rs boss Neil Warnock came all the way to Marrakesh to ask if he fancied a permanent move to Rs three weeks ago.

Taarabt said: “I had a great season at QPR – and sometimes it’s better to go where you are really wanted.

“I’ve spoken to Harry (Redknapp) about leaving. He told me to go on tour with the team to America, and I did, and he’s asked me to wait a while and see what happens.

“They are my club, so what choice do I have?”

When are REal Madrid and Barca putting in their bids?

Good go, you little arrogant runt

I think the penny's dropped a little bit for Adel - he seems to have realised that there is no "i" in team etc etc.

Having thought about it, he realises that he doesnt exactly have the CV for one of the big clubs and he knows Harry rates him. Lets hope he sticks around - I see him becoming the next Ronaldo/Zidane

Spurs asking for too much money? Surely Real and Barce are looking to smash the world record for you???

QPR can have him on another season's loan. If he has matured he will develop into one of the absolute stars of the Championship during the season, and he might be an asset to us come next August.
I have a bad feeling about selling him this season because despite all his attitude problems he does have real potential if he can mature as a person.
Gio should be given a chance this season. His goal last night (and did he not brilliantly assist Kranjcar's cracker that was ruled out or was that Lennon?) was well taken. Playing with Crouch up front and Lennon and Gio on the wings in front of Modric, Huddlestone and Wilson could be quite effective in the Champions League seeing as both Lennon and Gio seem to have learned the crucial art of teamwork.
With everyone fit we have loads of options going forward, but defensively we look troubled right now. The way I see it we are desperate for a quality centre back to replace Woody if we are to be succesful in Europe.

He's never gonna make it at spurs so we should sell him. He thinks he's Messi and to QPR fans he probably is. Not good enough for a squad in the Champs League though.

Watched the game last night and out of all the kids playing, Walker looked the best of them. Not convinced by Naughton yet, he needs time though. I also can't help but feel that Danny Rose will never do much else except score that wonder goal.

Seems Adel lacks the stomach to put up a fight. He should look at Pav and Bale - they could have left if they wanted to but stayed and had blistering ends to the season once their chances came.
Adel has the potential to be the next Modric and we already have him on our books. But it is interesting that in the Commoli days we would lure youngsters with promises of playing. That's not right.

Can't agree with the Danny Rose comment - he had one sublime 40-metre through ball for Lennon, who messed it up. But danny has vision and I wouldn't write him off just yet.

I did see the pass you mentioned, from centre mid out to the right wing along the ground - it was a brilliant pass, inch perfect. I hope he takes his chance when he gets it this season.

I dont think he'll have much time left of his contract and he's pretty much made it clear he`s not keen on returning, so sell him.

Surely if he`s that good a lower level Prem side would be interested? not just QPR? especially Newcastle with big Chris in charge

In the 1st half i thought Rose was one of our best players. He was calm in posession, intercepted a fair few passes and kept posession of the ball well. I was quite impressed with his ability in a more central role.

"But I think Spurs want too much money for me and at the moment, I’m as lost as anyone else".

If he'd seen the dross 5m can buy these days i think he should admit he's shite or rephrase some of that statement.

I think we need to realise what each player's best position is.

    In my mind...

    Corluka - RB
    Naughton - RB
Walker - RB (possibly a future CB)
    Kaboul - CB
    Rose - LM
    Bale - LB
    Modric - CM
    Kranjcar - LM
    Dos Santos - Deep-lying Striker.
    Taarabt - Deep-lying Striker
Hutton and Jenas - in the stands.

Although all of these players can "do jobs" in other positions, square pegs deserve square holes!

As for Taarabt...talent will only get you so far. You need to harness it into a formula that wins. As much as I love the skill he has, he won't sign a new contract unless he's playing. And he won't be playing for us anytime soon. I think it's in the club's best interest to let him go before he leaves on a free. Get whatever money we can for him and then wish him well.

That assist was Bales I'm pretty sure....

I think he should team up with Wayne Routledge, both have similar abilities started off with so much promise and potential, can't quite cut it at a top level premiership club, loaned out several times and eventually sold or thats the way I see this continuing. As Boony has already stated above, perhaps Chris Hughton is taking note and maybe the magpies will come in with a bid.

If you stick a player like him on for five minutes at the end of a game when we are losing 4-1 what else will he do but try to showcase his skills.

I hope he starts the next game and only gets pulled off if he is not playing well.
