Derby County midfielder Giles Barnes isn't interested in a January move to the Premiership.

    source - tribalfootball

Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham are all chasing the 18 year-old, who said: "I played 20 games last season when we flirted with relegation, so this season is a dream come true for me.

"I'm playing for the club I love and we're riding high in the table. I can almost taste the Premiership and that's where we want to be.

"I know a few Premiership clubs have been showing interest and I've been trying not to let it unsettle me.

"Derby is where I want to be and I can get into the Premiership with this club.

"They have given me my chance and I want to repay them and the fans for believing in me."

Would make this guy our no 1 priority in Jan, he is quality.
We will just see how loyal he is when our checkbook is waving about

he'll have no say if we make a large offer. Small clubs can't refuse millions. nice attitude from the lad, something M. carrick was missing.

Don't want to see mega money be spent on him though. Maybe just a cheeky offer test Derby's resolve, afterall we got Huddlestone for a song from them!

Players always have a say in where they play. If he doesn't want to play for us he won't. But if he thinks Derby are going to get promoted soon he's an optimist.

i've heard the name giles barnes for about 18months now, and from what ive heard he is really good, havent seen him play though, what position does he play in lads??????

This boy is quality - I think he could be tempted especially as he has seen people like lennon and the hudd progress nicely under BMJ wing.

Quality player, quality attitude. It's so refreshing to see a young player show some loyalty. No doubt he will move on when Derby get the right offer, but his declaration of loyalty means Derby will have more haggling power. And Spurs would be the team for him to join, after the way Lennon, Dawson and Huddlestone have all shone and grown since joining us.

He went to my school in oxford and i never even knew he played football, just a bit of a random kid. Not that that makes any difference to the debate but i feel i should share this with spurs fans.there you go.

yeh but they are second and playing pretty well from the sounds so logically that would mean promotion...surely?

I hope we manage to sign this lad. From what im hearing, should be good if we bring him in.

I'm sure the Hudd was making similar comments to this before he signed for us. It's basically the right thing to do when ur at a championship side with prem interest, keeps the fans happy for now and shows that he's happy to stay but the facts are that he'd be crazy to turn us down, Huddlestone is proof of that, come on Giles, do the right thing lad!

some of u guys crack me up.maybe he is just tellling the truth and dosnt want to leave derby, while he has a contract no one can force him to despite what some of u think, he only has to leave to a club of his choosing nost derbys. also i dont think derby are under pressure to sell like when we got rasiak and thud so dont think we would get bargain like with thud, if the bank hadnt been pressuring them dont think we would have got him for less than £5 million. think derby will want to keep him until at least the summer,
