This Yevhen Konoplyanka has only ever played for FC Dnipro. He looks OK on YouTube, has a bit of pace and an eye for a pass. But once again we're gonna take a complete punt on a foreign player. I know he's cheap, but I'm a bit underwhelmed.
All the way to the Europa Cup Final. 40 caps for Ukraine.

From what I have seen of this guy I think we will score a lot more goals from crosses. Seems like the conventional wide player than we have needed since Lennon went off the boil and Bale went.

i don't really believe in free transfers. for a start, they are far from free as you end up paying well over the odds in wages, this means that if the player isn't particularly great then it's near impossible to get rid of them down the line as they won't want to leave. another is you have to wonder how/why they've managed to end up running a contract down to the point where they're now a free agent, a lot of the time it can point towards attitude issues and this is something we've heard a lot of with konoplyanka in particular.

Why the comparasion between Pav and Defoe? Reading the article and then through the thread, I can't even work out why that was being discussed.

Anyway, even on a free I think this would be a poor signing. I've seen him play quite a few teams - against us twice obv - and he hasn't impressed me at all.

... and Defoe was miles better than Pav!

Who's waiting at the airport for him to arrive? I've just seen him get off a flight into Gatwick.
He was wearing a Spurs kit with Kane on the back.

Don't rate him on the admittedly tiny bit ive seen in Europa games the past 3 seasons but if poch wants him then great.
Please no more committee signings that the coach doesn't even want and by proxy won't play

I think you miss my point. I'm not saying he's crap, I'm saying that he has zero EPL experience and has only ever played for one club. This is an important factor to consider. Plus wasn't Soldado supposed to be this wonderful 30 goals a season striker?! Paulinho was wonderful in The Coppa America before we bought him. Lamella was some kind of wonder kid in the Italian league... Need I continue?!

I don't think so, I think Jermain despite being a true Yid, he needed A) to be onside to score and B) more chances than Pav to score.

That's my opinion anyway.

Well I'm not saying that Defoe was the most consistent, but Pav didn't turn up in half the games I saw him play in. And that's why he got moved on.

free transfer= profit in future, guys easily worth 10 mill

there's nothing negative about this transfer in my eyes and we need a left winger badly

Love the majority of fans find another good player 'not good enough' for Spurs

It's got nothing to do with the guy's pedigree. The fact is that he is another player we might get who has no EPL experience. I don't know whether you've been paying attention lately, but that generally hasn't worked out too well for us. Jeez.

I agree, just saying that as a fan it is totally underwhelming getting in yet another player with no EPL experience.

true but we cant really lose much in this transfer, if hes bad, we can still likely make profit, hes only 25 and chadli has someone fighting for his spot, we need competition for places, as we have seen rose improve a lot from it

How many times have we not done this deal now? Some guy called Leandro is rumoured to be flying in next week. He's a decent winger and if he's really free and really coming it would mean we can let Lennon go but I'm not holding my breath.
