Prick move. If it was our player we'd be fuming

But then that's football innit

Bit different though. Modric and Bale, who forced moves in a similar fashion, weren't at sinking ships who'd lost their owner, director, manager, and top players all in the space of less than a year

Doesn't matter. By all means hand in a transfer request, but tweeting dirty laundry in very public capital letters like a child? No time for it at all

Good player tho and I obviously hope he signs but then I'm a modern day football fan and can live with the hypocrisy

I think they were at a sinking ship Tbh.

Well we've hardly sunk have we? You're way too pessimistic, when you think how many hundreds of clubs there are in England, to support one who's consistently around the top 6 and plays in Europe every year is hardly something to complain about

Can 't argue with that.

To be fair though regarding your previous post I actually thought Bale was relatively respectful to the club unlike, say, Berbatov

Well, we were 4 th and got to the champions league quarter final.
We had Ledley King at centre back, bale on the side, Modric in the middle, van Der vaart making stuff happen and Adebeyor knocking them in.
Then clever cloggs sacks Redknapp. Modric goes. Van goes. King retires. Bale plays another season while we slug it out to fifth almost exclusively due to him. He figures out AVB is rubbish, so bale leaves.
AVB gets rightly sacked and we finish 6th.

Now we're all getting excited over signing (or not) two players from the 8th best side in they league and 2 players from the bottom half of the league.

They only way is up from here @Lufti my man.

1. King's retirement was no-one's fault
2. Modric leaving couldn't be stopped, he refused to train
3. VDV couldn't complete 90 mins and wanted to go back to Germany, it was a decent time to sell, but he should have been better replaced
4. Bale again, refused to train, and we got a huge sum of money for him

Honestly, compared to 95% of other clubs we have it so good, and we've got a new stadium on the way. Of course we're not gonna spend that much. As for the signings, these are the types of players we should be going for, for several reasons.

1. Young
2. Homegrown
3. Relatively cheap
4. Attainable
5. Prem-proven

There's a lot to get excited about.

As for 'There only way is up from here', I'd imagine that's what Saints fans were saying around December time last year. Enjoy what we've got while it lasts!

Oh, and p.s. Vertonghen and Lloris just signed new contracts, sinking ship my arse ;)

I'm trying to look at it from a player at spurs point of view.
Why did great players leave a club seemingly on the up?

Look at who they left to! Real Madrid and Man United (when they were good). If you were a player, regardless of the loyalty you're feeling now, you'd most likely do the same
