If money is the issue, why not spend £7M on Charlie Austin and use him only when Kane needs a rest or, God forbid, is injured.

I don't necessarily think Berahino has a bad attitude. I just haven't seen enough from him to warrant the prices being bandied about. He looks a 10 million player and signing him for more would simply put undue pressure on him from the media and fans to succeed, which does affect players. "Berahino 20 million flop-hino".

On balance, I would probably take a punt on Austin. He's got less long time potential than Berahino but I think he'd have more impact on the backend of this season and would cost substantially less.

i like the fact that Austin works the keeper so much. Hits the target a lot. I think we need someone with a bit of Austin's football life experience. He knows what it takes to succeed. Go get him.

Can see this turning into another stand off between Levy and Peace. We really need another option in the likely event that it gets silly again.

I like what I have seen from Berahino but I can't help thinking we can do even better. Surely many top young players or even an experienced one would love to come to Spurs right now.

Pretty sure I saw an interview that pretty much said Poch had no interest in Austin and really wanted Bera... If he thinks he's worth it might be worth a punt, wouldn't worry about the Leeds comparisons - don't think Levy would let that happen (probably why it didn't happen in the summer).

Stop worring about the money we will not go bankrupt!!

We need quality especially in forward positions and actually I would like more than one striker if possible as I think we should have three strikers to cover injuries, loss of form and for competition etc..

Not one of my points was about us going bankrupt. It was about how the price of a player can affect his performances and therefore why it matters

Poch doesn't want Austin, Levy offered to get him and he turned it down. I've said it before he isn't going to buy anyone unless they are a good fit for the team.

Who said money is an issue? Isn't it more a question of not paying over the odds?
Berahino doesn't seem to be fitting in there at the moment so I would be very surprised if we don't go back with a similar or reduced offer.
