We shouldn't buy if it is north 20 million. Would rather Poch spends time developing our kids like Bentaleb, Mason(though not that young) and Pritchard.

I think Schneiderlin would be an excellent addition. Poch knows him really well, and whilst I think our chances of top 4 are slim this season, he would increase those chances quite a bit? His stats from last season were excellent.
One or two sources are suggesting the Woolwich Pikeys are sniffing around him. I'd hate to see Levy's haggling let them slip in and nick him from under our noses.
Let's get it done.

Would trade Sandro and perhaps Dembele (or Paulinho) for Schneiderlin, since they seem surplus to requirement, but I doubt if any of the three wants to go the Southampton.

Definitely don't think they will let him go after the match yesterday. Looked by far the best player on the Saints side - if he was on his way to us, don't believe he would have even played in that game.

I was well impressed with Southampton in that game. They were all over the Scousers in the second half and should have buried them. I really don't think we wil get Schneiderlin now, but I'm not too bothered about that. Capoue/Sandro/Dembele/Bentaleb are good options in his position, but we really need a good, strong striker to challenge Ade. Remy would do for me with Daws possibly moving the other way.

I'd be happier with Dembele or Paulinho going but not Sandro. Different type of player to Schneiderlin and offers something different in a defensive and combative midfielder. The other two are the more creative type which Schneiderlin could replace in the first XI

This move will depend on what fuss he causes behind the scenes at saints. if he believes he has a gentleman's agreement he may well have his agent pressing for a move all week.
However it would not surprise me if we sign both him and JR in January and if we are in a healthy position it would be a very good addition to push on from January.

When you think manutd aRE FOURTH FAVS and IMHO we are streets ahead of them with our squad depth (could all change if they splash the cash but they need at least 6 more players and no CL which they may think wont hinder, but it will i.e. robben) we are in a possible position of being the club that is ignored and we could quietly move into a position to challenge.

If I was Schneiderlin I'd be pissed. I'd be saying to the chairman how come you let every other fucker go but I have to stay in this shithole?

A Soton fan pointed out to me that the others were allowed to join clubs wiht a realisitic chance of Champions league footie in order to further their careers; the same justification, he opined, would not wash for Spurs...

I should imagine Soton being pissed off with Spurs for paoching Poch also has something to do with it.

Don't agree at all. How good he played in the game has no impact on if he goes or stays. It's not like they didn't know how good he is. He was consistently good last year. They have not been taken by surprise and thinking, wow, this guy's really good. We better keep him.
As for playing in the game, I would think he's been advised to play (rather than refuse/strike etc) to keep his fitness up, so if/when he comes to us, he can go straight in.
