Fantastic result for our U18s, who beat Newcastle 4-0 with Laste Dombaxe, Shaq Coulthirst, Ken McEvoy and Darren McQueen on target.

i thought we had a Vukcic on our books

You're probably thinking of Milo's Veljkovic. Serbian CB. Haris Vukcic plays as a second striker for the barcodes, has a few Prem appearances under his belt, I think he's one of their overage players.

Not seen the unused substitutes from yesterday's U21 game, but from the two who were used it seems we had the same bench for the U21 and U18 game; were we economising on travel costs?! Given Smith's very early departure that might help to explain the first half tonking.

Quite a roster of young players who missed out on Saturday's games: Rose, Caulker, Button, Bostock, Parrett, Pritchard, Obika, plus the majority of those likely to play in NextGen: Archer, Gualifuoco, Veljikovic, Stewart, Barthram, Gomelt, Bentilab.

If we do not take the first round of U21 seriously we won't qualify for the elite second round, which is going to be embarrassing, and not put out a good message to any youngster we might be attempting to recruit.

Good spot - Newcastlke report say the same 5 subs for Under 21's as listedf for academy. Not economising on travel as think the u 18 and u 21 went by coach - maybe economising on hotels for one night, but its a crazy decision.

Yes rest the players for the NextGen game on Tuesday 22nd (probably flying out on Monday) but that would be 3 overage players (probably 2 defenders such as Ekong, Stewart or Veljkovic plus a 3rd player) so that leaves most of Rose, Caulker, Button, Bostock, Parrett, Pritchard, Obika, Archer, Gualifuoco, Barthram, Gomelt, Bentilab available as subs.

The Tottenham page on NextGen Series now has the Spurs squad on. http://www.nextgenseries.com/Clubs/Tottenham-Hotspur-FC

Not sure of its exact significance as last year the squad appeared only after a game or two had been played, and then some of the squad members never appeared in a Next Gen squad or team ! The NextGen rules require a squad of up to 18 players (presumeably for each individual game, although the rules are silent upon this part)

There are 28 players listed, but I doubt if Harry Kane will appear, and equally either Jordan Archer and/or Jonathan Miles are likely to go out on loan.

Suffice to say it includes pretty much all the players who are eligible in the Professionals, 3rd Year and 2nd Year Academy. One noticeable absentee from the list is Tomislav Gomelt who played in last year's NextGen Series but is not yet on OS. Over half of last years regular NextGen side are listed however

I have added their playing position, grouped them into GK's/defenders/midfield/strikers and their Spurs squad status for extra information.

The 'overage' players, of which there is a maximum of 3 allowed in a matchday squad of 18 (of whom only two can be playing at the same time) are underlined
