It's back to cup action for us at the beginning of Juande Ramos' reign as Spurs Head Coach. To everyone going tonight sing loud and sing proud and let the new coach know what makes our club so special us the fans.

The Official Site Team News:

Paul Robinson and Jermaine Jenas are in the frame for tonight's Carling Cup tie against Blackpool at the Lane.

Goalkeeper Robbo has missed the games against Newcastle, Getafe and Blackburn with a calf injury while a tight hamstring kept JJ sidelined for Getafe and Blackburn.

Gareth Bale (foot) and Anthony Gardner (ankle) remain out alongside Ledley King, Benoit Assou-Ekotto (both knee) and Ricardo Rocha (ankle).

Skysports.com Preview:

Juande Ramos takes charge of his first Tottenham Hotspur game as Blackpool visit White Hart Lane in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.

The Spaniard was presented to the media on Tuesday after being appointed as Martin Jol's replacement over the weekend.

The former Sevilla coach will be expected to make a winning start to his reign, with Spurs having won more cup games than league fixtures so far this season.

Ramos is expected to deploy a 4-4-2 formation against Blackpool, and it is a case of trying to second-guess his line-up.

Gareth Bale remains injured, so Lee Young-pyo and Steed Malbranque could form the left-hand side of the field.

Ledley King, Anthony Gardner and Ricardo Rocha are injured, so the centre-half pairing of Younes Kaboul and Michael Dawson pretty much picks itself.

Paul Robinson is back in training after a calf problem and Spurs' No.1 could be recalled in goal in place of Radek Cerny.

Jermaine Jenas is also in contention and will vie with Didier Zokora and Tom Huddlestone for a central midfield berth.

Blackpool head to North London having already won at top-flight opposition this season after knocking out Derby County on penalties in the second round.

Manager Simon Grayson is hoping that Michael Jackson and Andy Morrell will be fit to lend their experience to the club's bid to pull off a shock.

Jackson has been struggling with a stomach strain, while top scorer Morrell has a back complaint.

Striker Ben Burgess is out with an ankle injury and midfielder Keith Southern is a major doubt with a swollen ankle.

hmmm... judging by that article. could be the same team as last few weeks. :bang:

if it is, it will defo be interesting to see what tactics he employs to see the diff between a team who couldnt be arsed for Jol to a team who has it all to prove.

I expect the team to be pretty much the same as jol has been using. I haven't seen kpb at all but it seemed like he almost joined seville so Ramos may give him a try. Who's to say the seville sporting director was signing players the manager wanted though ;-)

the main thing will be his tactics, he might use the tactics from seville and make the wingers as attacking as possible with zokora and jenas holding positions in the centre.

a win will do for me though either way i dont really care how.

I'm interested to see which front two Ramos decides to go with first.

Might be wrong to read too much into the team tonight, as it is, after all, Blackpool. Normally we wouldn't field our strongest team.

Ramos will go all out I think, he'll be looking to impress and keep the positive momentum generated by his appointment going.

As it happens I have a spare ticket in the West Stand Lower Block 11 if anyone is still looking for a ticket.

As fragile as our team is, you wouldn't want to take any risks. I think there would be a few Championship teams who could cause us a bit of trouble... we are shakey enough...

Got to play his best team tonight because he wants to win, rebuild confidence and build momentum plus he will want to see who he has and what they can do before he can think about resting people.
Can't imagne there'll be any surprises after only two days.

Apart from the risk factor, Ramos will surely want the strongest possible line-up to have a proper run-out before we head Oop North on Saturday.

The last time we beat them in a cup we won the whole thing. That's got to be a good omen hasn't it?

Quarter Finals next round. That is incentive enough for our boys to step up and do a job on the Tangerines (like peeling 'em).
