Best team we can put out atm imo- just doesn’t leave us with any attacking quality on the bench

Bought the crappy Bild Zeitung this morning thinking at last something on Spurs-only one full side(only 16 sides in this German tabloid ) on Klopp the superstar

This will work if we play to Llorente's strengths. The only reason it's a problem is because we keep playing into feet. Get the ball up and let him hold it up and get crosses into the box

I really think Llorente offers something different and extra to the side. Just imagine this team when Kane is back:

Hugo

Trippier - Toby - Jan - Rose

Dier/Mousa - Winks

Sonny - Kane - Chris/Dele

Fernando

With the full backs crossing the ball and him either making goal attempts or knock downs for Kane to smash them in. We dont always have to do a Barca. He's scored one (the winner) and set up three. For someone who has hardly played, that is a very impressive return. Poch puts him on very late in the game when we are trailing and need to launch the ball long for a knock down. I think he can offer much more than that.

I actually think we have the edge here. We know how to play and win with a gutted squad. They don't. We really need to hit them hard from the get go. Unleash Son and Lamela and don't let them forget the aerial threat that is Llorente. Personally I'm very confident. Hopefully I won't have a mouthful of humble pie by the evening's end.

I agree. Llorente needs crosses into the box for starters but he also isn't a 'hold up' type of CF. His game is more about flick ons and knock downs in the build up. At the moment we're not getting players around him quite enough and they are, understandably, not quite on the same wavelength. Son and Kane playing off him would be very dangerous.

Exactly - a creative player with a strong physical presence. Imagine his presence when the longer ball is player and Kane having more space to receive and smash. The fact that Sonny has scored quite a few in the last games is evidence of Llorente's beneficial presence. With Fernando, Sonny and Kane, teams will have a lot to fear. The pressure will be incessant.

Lots of speculation here about our striking strengths, but for me, its te other end that concerns. We have looked a bit desperate at the back in the last few games, particularly with our full backs getting caught out bombing forward too far, and getting caught leaving big gaps behind. Not conceding an away goal to Dortmund will be crucial I think.

I am of the same opinion. We have been lucky in a number of games rather than compact and resolute in terms of our defending.

I know it is the sign of a good team to win when not playing well, but it is only a matter of time for a team not defending well to get punished. See Chelsea against City and United last night against PSG. United have dodged so many bullets recently and last night was a game too far for them.

I think we are due a hammering based on our performances of late and hope we approach this game with a sense of caution.

A completely different perfromance in the second half, Verts had a briliant game. Three well taken goals. Lloris, great save and THE SPURS GO MARCHING IN. COYS!!!!:):):)
