Shame we didn't get a bigger lead but still reckon we will draw at the bridge at least and that is enough.

A big shoutout to Dele Alli, once again what a defensive performance from him
Just because he didn’t score people will overlook him but he was my MOTM today

Eh?!! If you think giving the ball away every time he got it is a great defensive display then I must have been transported into a parallel reality!!

We do need him back, if only just to give Winks and Sissoko a rest. Only problem is he can’t play in games like tonight when we’re pressed high either.

Which is why we are in such a need for at least one quality CM player who can receive the ball and play out of the press.
We can't play these two when pressed high either. At least Dier can break up play.

Great to know we can pull out a performance like that on a big occasion. 3 wins in a row against the dirty blue scum. 2nd leg is another chapter, got to be happy with tonight.

Thought Trippier deserves special praise as he’s had a lot of grief this season and one slip up tonight would have seen him (and probably anyone who made an error) get absolutely slaughtered.

I love Sanchez's defensive ability, his speed and physicality and all that business. But the one thing that winds me up is the amount of times he passes back to the keeper. Fiar enough do it now and again when under pressure, but it's like he chooses to do it with the just slightest hint of pressure from an attacker. Ordinarily it's fine against weak opposition and Hugo or gazza can start again passing to a fullback, but against a team that presses from the front like Chelsea did today you end up in a far worse position with either a hoof upfield or putting another player under REAL pressure the result, he needs to be braver in possession.

Really pleased with the win tonight. Bit worried that we didn't have any CM options on the bench to really sure it up when we needed it. We really need to do something this window as another injury to either Winks or Sissoko would kill us.

They pretty much all gave the ball away a lot but despite that we defended very well. What's the weather like over there? :D

Happy with the win but we rly got dominated in that second half.
Not all luck that we got the win though - we defended great at times and kept our shape - some nice attacking football in the first half as well. Seems like we just ran out of energy and couldn't keep up.
I disagree in as much as poch saw we got the goal and instructed them to protect it at half time. Given the amount of games we've had and have got coming up, I think it was a professional performance.

Solid defensive performance. Just shows we can dig in when needed.

Also, I suppose technically we've won a Wembley semi-final too. That must do wonders for the psyche of the players and Poch now.
