Yawn.

Yes, Harry is self serving. Yes he wanted the England job. But he still did more for us than any manager had done in many years and I do get so very tired of the endless sour grapes where he is concerned. He got us two top four finishes and a CL quarter final at a time when we had no business getting that far. He deserves more credit like he gets (along with other people who get uncalled for shit, like Robbie Keane).

Not disputing any of that, but he didn't get the sack for finishing 4th did he?

I don't fancy a result at all tonight.

Disappointed with the starting eleven and, in particular, our midfield selection, but I recognise that we are desperately short of options.
Maybe we will add to our midfield options during the transfer window ! Oh wait a moment it is closing in a couple of hours after being open for the whole month of January!

Wanyama has looked so off the pace I'm not sure how you could justify selecting him right now.
But when the direct competition is Dier, Dembele and Sissoko then there's certainly some scope to rotate our options and give him a start - if anything to give the likes of 'undroppable' Dier a mental kick up the arse!

Not asking for Wanyama to be a Modric here - just screen the defence and provide legs in the middle.

Thing is, he didn’t used to be. He’s quick when he wants to be, but seems to have decided to play the game at an amble.

He thinks he is Pirlo incarnate. Problem is he has neither the vision, passing ability or guile to pull it off. So just looks like a centre back playing in midfield

Sanchez massive signing for them, without him I make us favs, with him I think it has swung the balance their way, unfortunately it's what an open checkbook does, hope I'm wrong...

No, but that doesn't mean his sacking was justified and it doesn't mean he should just be treated as a hate figure.

At the end of the day what did his sacking get us? The underwhelming AVB and the utter joke that was Sherwood. Two seasons wasted in other words.

Personally I think Levy should've been a little wiser and kept him on until he found someone who was truly a step up. AVB was not it. He was a lateral move at best.

But he doesn't even look fit currently and able to do the screening/running job. It went under the radar in the Soton match, but those few mins he was on the pitch he got absolutely breezed past twice, one of which they could have easily scored from. I'm not sure he's 100% injury free yet tbh.
