It may well be that he is making the wrong decision, to the extent there is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ decision about when to play youngsters but the way some people talk, one would think that they know better. There is a lot of hysteria and overreacting when we don’t play some people’s favourites as if there will never be another chance or, at least possibly, Poch has prioritised winning the game or giving established first teamers game time to get fit.
For me, I think this is just passion spilling over. I know you think it is dubious but I have seen a lot of matches, and genuinely believe that we have at least a couple more that could do a Kane and definitely more that can do Winks. Like I say I'm not qualified but if you're a fan and you believe you are seeing players who are as good or better than the aforementioned 2, when they were the same age, you will get a little down or frustrated thinking what the club could be missing out whether it be another star or potential money. I'm not aware it comes across as 'knowing more' for me it's just frustartion, misplaced or not, but that's what it is. I only want the best for Spurs and believe better use could help that. I'm a fan overall I only want success.

Mostly they were after loan spells, sub appearances and most likely training with the first team going back to the Redknapp days.
Agree, and those development methods have been a success , when you look at Kane et al. It's annoying that they aren't going through that development, until they're 20/21 and Poch realises he isn't actually going to use them. If more went on loan would could make more fees, to go to better signings or wages.

Let's hope whatever happens, it works out for us, and thanks for the respectful reply.

I’d disagree on the ‘passion’ point for some posters, (I don’t mean you, I confess I don’t recall your posts) I genuinely think it’s pure arrogance/ignorance for other posters.

I’m not totally sure what you mean in the highlighted text but I think Poch has built up a successful, loyal and talented core of players, what one fan on a podcast referred to as the Poch cartel (Lloris, Verts, TA, Rose-maybe/, Dier, Alli, Kane) that there are only so many gaps for young players to fill at any one time. But they are there, on loan or in and around the first team and if good enough will get their chance to nail down a first team place.

I will stand corrected if some players move on to better things and it becomes evident that we missed out but I don’t believe that is a risk right now and that Poch (who singles out Onomah and Edwards for praise but also tough love) will let talent slip away unless those players do not apply themselves well enough to realise their talent.

I meant that Kane and the previous lot were allowed to go on loans to develop their skills, which helped them break into the first team. We don't send players on loan anymore, or should I say we don't send our best on loan. We keep them around the squad, for a couple of years until we realise we're not going to use them before sending them out on loan.

The point about your last paragraph is that just because someone doesn't succeed in one club it doesn't mean he wouldn't succeed at another. Kane as an obvious example bombed at Leicester while still have the same qualities he had in the 13./14 season when he showed he was a good player, and carried it into the 14/15 season. Had Soldado and Adebayor not bombed, what's to say Kane would not have left the club with no chances, and gone on and failed at another Championship clubs and fans would be none the wiser as to what they missed out on. Soldado was the 3rd highest goal scorer in La Liga and flopped in the Prem and Paulinho flopped here and is now playing for Barcelona. There are many reasons why some people don't perform as well as expected and it sin't always down to ability. Point being, just because someone doesn't 'bite us in the ass' it doesn't mean he still couldn't have done a job here or benefited us.

But we do; Onomah, CCV and who’s to say Edwards/others won’t go on loan? I would think that choosing to send a player on loan or keep them around the team is a judgement call. Kane did; Winks didn’t as examples.

I don’t buy the argument that Kane only got a chance because Soldado/Ade bombed. He was already around the fringes in the season before and frankly that is how lots of players succeed, by taking their chances. That’s how Winks established himself this season with Wanyama out and Dembele struggling for fitness.

I don’t disagree with your point that some players make it elsewhere when it hasn’t worked out here; that doesn’t really counter my point or would rather support it. If Onomah for example makes it at Villa, they go up and he does very well in the EPL (all very hypothetical at the moment) that doesn’t necessarily mean he should have stayed here and been given game time.
