Yeah, totally unconvincing on their way to the Champions League Final last season...
Don't be daft, You know I mean this year.
Just like we wouldn't have stood a chance against last year's winners, if they were in that form. Honestly I sometimes dispair. Is the need to get cheap recognition so huge that you can't have a reasonable discussion?

How on Earth would I have known you meant that when you said nothing of the sort? And they've hardly been that bad this year either, not to mention plenty of the top sides don't take the group stage quite as seriously and turn it on in the knockouts.

No, you're right. We're talking about our options for this year, but obviously I'm going to talk about a team's form from 12 and 24 months ago.

Because 42k for a champions league game is way too low, it's not like we get to play in the champions league every season so you'd like to think most people would like to make the most of it.

If Woolwich can get close to 60k for a Europa league game then us getting 42k for a champions league game, already group winners or not, really isn't great.

Yeah, but it Wembley, midweek, for a meaningless game. Who wants to queue forever to get a train in the freezing cold, after spending 90 minutes watching the second team in a soulless bowl?
If it was WHL or NWHL, then it would have been full.

In case you can't get it, I'm not a fan of the home of football!

It was a midweek dead rubber game at Wembley, the outcome would have been the same no matter what, I can see why people didn't want to go. Champions League or not it was a pointless match.

Yeah well it kinda helps when Arsenal charge £15 per ticket for Europa League matches, dead comparison.

lol just seen the highlights from last night - it looked like a bunch of drunks kicking a balloon around.

Besides that guff, good goals from Son and Llorente.

So was the CSKA Moscow game last season but we still had over 60k attend.

You might think it was a pointless match but I didn't see it that way. Sure it had no effect on our group standing but we just topped a potential group of death so I was expecting more people to turn up in support.

You didn't see it as a dead rubber, unfortunately for you about 40,000 other people did, not sure where you're trying to go with this, having only 42k at Wembley would have sold out WHL and I doubt that the attendance would be so low if we were playing at NWHL. It's perfectly reasonable as to why people preferred to stay away from this match for the reasons stated, cost, midweek, Wembley, dead rubber etc...i don't think they're anything embarrassing about that at all.

Did we win?
Nah mate, lost 1-0 on an intentional own goal by Rose. Llorente missed a sitter, GKN transmogrified into a touchline, and Aurier literally murdered a man and is now driving around London wearing his scalp. Match got weird.
