Just watched the whole game. A lot of positives to take out of that. You can see the pressing ethos in Barca's U18 team, but I was actually bloody impressed with the way we continued to pass the ball continually. We controlled big chunks of the game, were easily the better side in the first half. Until we changed from the 433 I also thought our pressing was damn good, rarely letting Barca settle or string passes together. The shape and rhythm went a little when we started making changes and switched shape and tactics. We left ourselves a little exposed towards the end chasing the game.

I thought Dombaxe looks good as a ball playing busy ****, Pritchard clearly has ability and great technique. Going forward I really liked the look of both McQueen & Stuart, both looked a little exposed by Barca's wingers, but that has to be qualified by saying those two wingers were easily Barca's most dangerous two players, very quick and skilful, they would have been a handful for any full backs.

Considering we were taking on one of the best youth set ups in world football I thought the kids gave an exceedingly good account of themselves. Very impressed, very promising, particularly from a coaching perspective, big improvement from the last time I watched the U18's get outplayed by Arsenal in a semi final two or three years ago.
