All in all a very poor first half, which is not unusual for us lately. Poch typically whips the team into shape at half time so let's hope we're much improved in the second half.

We haven't really played well in a back three formation at all this season, but with Rose unavailable it was probably the only way trying to avoid getting shredded down the wings.

What's so frustrating about Lucas is you can clearly see he's got the technical ability, but it's like he lacks the awareness. If they go at him one by one he gets past easily but once they pressure with more it's like he loses their position and walks straight into 'em.

We've seen enough of 'em here and we've got the beating of them if we change approach and maximise our attacking power. Go 4231 and work hard to track back in wide areas and we'll win.

Lamela will be useful for spotting some quick passes to release players currently none of them can.

They're playing a sensible game at the back, they know our threat is in behind so they're sitting a bit deeper. Whenever Eriksen gets it in the number 10 position they're quick to deny him. Moura needs to improve in possession or i'd hook him for Lamela. Trouble is I think if we get 1-0 up he'd be a lot more useful to have on as you'd think they'd come out and try to attack us more. Hopefully Rose has got 30 minutes in him too, we're missing his dynamism a bit.

Dortmund have been excellent in midfield, really constricting the space and time available whenever Eriksen gets forward and/or Son and Lucas get on the ball in those areas. We probably should be playing wider, but Vertonghen needs to be cautious about them exploiting him the other way, and Aurier just isn't very good.

If we keep this formation, I think we need to bring Llorente on, so that we have the out ball when we can't play through midfield, and dare I say it, bring Tripps on, who is far better in this set up than he is in a back four.

Just need little more from Aurier and Winks to come into the game a bit more in the second half. They are not as intimidating a side as I first thought. Also I know Sancho is a English international but can the commentators get their tongues out of his arse for 5 minutes unbareable on the stream Im watching

The 2 ex PSG boys haven;t really shone.... Can't fault Moura for effort, but he is all over the place when on the ball.

Eriksen has disappeared.

Wasn;t as bad as I thought it was going to be when we put this formation out though, to be honest. I think they did ok. But in my opinion, we are a much more formidable side when we use our attacking players and press from the top, as opposed to soaking up pressure and counter attacking. I just don;t like this system.

Not as good as I'd hoped, not quite as bad as I'd feared. I probably would have taken a 0-0 draw at the start if it had been offered, and I probably still would. Need at least a shape change, just to allow us to release the pressure with some possession now and then.
