Cardiff have appealed against the sending off.? That doyen of referees Mark Halsey ..says it was only a caution.
In my view if you kick someone when the ball is nowhere near then it has to be a sending off. It is a deliberate kick Not a tackle. Remember Jon Moss sending off Xhaka either last season or the one before for something similar although not as violent as the Cardiff one.

Ralls is alongside Moura as Lucas is about to get away, he looks at him, kicks him high up the leg and brings him down. Kane sees this and runs across. Ralls sent off. Kane booked.

Warnock blames Kane for getting Ralls sent off and Cardiff appeal. :wacky:

Can they get an extra game added for a frivolous appeal?

He didn't kill him, so it can't be that bad, right?

Eddie Howe would be a great option if Poch walks away.
Was talking about this Saturday. I really like Eddie Howe, but Benitez would be the better choice imo. He has experience of winning titles, trophies and the CL. Tactically he’s excellent.
If, God forbid, we were to lose Poch, I feel Benitez would hit the ground running with the squad we have. I’m not convinced Howe would.

Bollocks. This was one of the games that they were only catering for 50k by closing the upper tier. Supporters may have been seated up there but that was for various reasons like those that had a promotional tickets they had to honour etc.

[EDIT] Taken from SSC
With City and Inter at Wembley, we have reached the limit of full capacity games for 2018, Brent Council have imposed a 50k limit on yesterdays game and Cardiff only 2nd PL team not to sell out their allocation as well meant attendance very low..

Trying to find out if PSV game is a reduced capacity game..

Chelsea if played at Wembley will be the last full capacity game according to where the info on attendance yesterday came from...
Am I missing something here, because it states it was a very low attendance? https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....e-after-43000-wembley-crowd-a3955456.html?amp
When I said it was not unexpected, it was because I didn't think this was a game that would draw the crowds, who would probably not want to weather the travel difficulties.

Six PL wins in eight games, a new Spurs record.

Yes, "back to basics" makes absolute sense.
:wideyed:

I did say we were in a great position irrespective of some questionable performances.

Look no one is whinging ffs. It's a great start from a points tally perspective but the point is if we continue to perform below the standards we've set, we will drop more points than we should.

And we've been questionable at times with, the current lot who are injured, playing in the team.

What's so hard to understand about that?

And I meant by going back to basics in terms of Pochs high intensity press which is fading with every passing week.

It came across as you were snidely saying that they couldn't nearly fill the 90k stadium which would not have been the case. My bad

Don't worry, the main instigator Lamela is back. Poch needs to start him though

It was a weird atmosphere, though. You had to wait for a COYS chant to come over before there was half-hearted joining in. Hell, there were even blokes appreciative of Sissoko's work: I thought I was in a parallel universe.
I wish we had scored more goals, because the Gooners are crawling out of the woodwork now.

That was such a blatant red card, not only should it trigger the extra match ban, I think Cardiff should be docked points for appealing it.

On reflection having rewatched the Cardiff match recording the only reason the sending off was considered controversial is because the mad jock who was co/comentating considered the red soft and I say again we play football as we know it and not football as Americans know it and one of the main attributes of American football is a block tackle where the ball is nowhere in sight.
Can you imagine if a block tackle like the one we have seen was only a yellow card then chaos would ensue we would be going down a very dangerous road and Wimbledon crazy gang could make a comeback madn

No such thing as an extra game ban for frivolous appeals anymore.
I can't find anything anywhere to suggest this practice has been abandoned.
To be fair, I can't find anything from 2018 to suggest it exists, but there's plenty of cases in fairly recent history whereby a player has appealed, lost and ended up with an extra game.
