How we have managed to match our best points haul after 8 games whilst playing this poorly is incredible. We really need to pick it up

One point off the top, job done. Well done lads. Should have been 6 but hey, 3 pts is all that matters.

Cardiff are the worst team in the league and we win 1-0 without being impressive, again

Respect and realism where it's due, Cardiff aren't the worst team in the league.

Warnock has them set up to give as good as they get, and they do it well. So far they've played us, City, Chelsea and Arsenal out of their 8 games, so it's not realistic to write them off yet.

We dominated the game. Should have killed it early.
Have some questions about our tactics, creativity, the use of sissoko, Sanchez form.
But we took the 3 points. Job done.
If City-liverpool game tomorrow should end in a draw we are certainly right up there in the mix.

truly awful performance but we got the job done, just highlights how poor we look with a few injuries, more emphasis to add in January based on this showing but we all know not to expect anything, 1 addition if were lucky

Fell asleep at the red card and I'm still annoyed at how boring the last 5 minutes I woke up for were...

That goes without saying. Just worries me that we have been so poor today.
yeah been poor every game even manu but there we sit in the table. that is a good sign of what we COULD do. it ought to wake something up from sleep. whatever it is that’s sleeping. somewhere.

At least we didn't concede the heartbreaking 95 minute equaliser, grabbing a draw from the jaws of victory.

No they’re the worst team in the league. Statistically and on the pitch. We made them look half decent

I think that shoots right towards the top of the list of the most miserable games ever. Just nothing of quality in the game at all. I know it's a bit of a quandary - 1-0 up against 10 men, had a hard game in midweek and in the middle of a packed fixture schedule, you don't want to push too hard - but the second half especially was fucking awful, bordering on disgraceful. An absolute waste of time for supporters.

Injuries or not, this side is just not functioning at the moment. Our attacking structures aren't great, our possession play is really flailing, and our press & defensive organisation is way off our best. That there is still enough about us (and maybe says something about the other teams in the league) to be towards the top of the table, great, but fucking hell start playing properly and who knows what might happen.........

Fuck. We need to really go back to basics in terms of Pochs style.

Where's that high intensity pressing game gone?

If we could get our act together after the International break we'd be in business because we're in a good position despite some abject performances.

Players back and back to basics and we could go far this season. But performances of late have to be improved upon.

I agree in principle but was never going to happen today with a threadbare squad and after how hard a lot of that team had to work in midweek.

Looking at that display, there are teams around us who probably think they can overtake us

It was a team without Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Vertonghen and Lamela (for the most part), so this performance shoudn't really be an indicator of our level. Only thing I would say that would encourage those teams is that we haven't really played that great all season though, even with those missing players. Despite that we're in third so that has to count for something though.
