He said "harry, fucking well done you twat, fucking well done you twat"

He was asked about it after the match and said "theres about 10 of them out there. I wouldn't say that [twat], it would be twit wouldn't it?" Not quite sure what hes getting at here though. Maybe saying twit is the plural of twats or just lying to save face. Maybe I'm being dim.

Well that just sums Warnock up then. Hope they go down and Warnock is never seen on this stage again.

The whole crowd immediately knew it was at least an orange card. Not only was the tackle unnecessarily dangerous and reckless, but Ralls was arguably the last defender. We were all on our feet instantly and you can tell the difference between people knowing they'll be seeing a yellow and people expecting a red.

It is a matter of degree in a situation like this, but this tackle was a degree or two over the baseline for a red card.

we'd be more likely to fire him in the third season, too, after he pissed everyone off.
Mourinho is toxic- he’d completely wreck squad harmony and infuriate Levy after a single transfer window. He’s probably ripe for international football now- limited amounts of time with a squad to minimise alienating players might work

We're good enough now and our squad is deep enough that we can go through a badly disjointed patch and still take 2.25 points per game. That corresponds to 85.5 points over a season. Without playing especially well.

But the thread is still full of people whinging about the transfer window.

I'd rather be watching us play the kind of inspired football that we played two years ago and, at times, last season., But until it arrives, I'm happy to watch us keep winning.

There were several excellent, nicely-coordinated and creative moves in the second half: lovely football. They broke down because Cardiff had 9 men behind the ball, because some players, especially Winks, put together some very stylish approach play and then lost confidence as they neared the penalty box and because we kept trying to fire the ball through a crowd and multiple shots were blocked.

We were the dominant team in the second half, even before the sending-off. We just lacked Eriksen and Alli.

I couldnt agree more. I dont know why teams keep hiring him. He's good for a couple of trophies but he invariably burns everything down.

When the manager comes out and says that we need to improve - is that whinging? or is it only when fans can see that our performances that need improving that becomes whinging?

I think we all recognise we have done well up to this point to be where we are especially given all the issues we have faced, what with the fatigue in players, the stadium fiasco and player situations eg Lloris not to mention some of the injuries. However; we cannot just disregard the performance aspect which I know you acknowledge, so im not saying you dont, but we all know we need to play much better than that to get anything out of the likes of West Spam coming up or Man Shitty in a few weeks time.

You have a point about the set pieces I think. That has been very disappointing and there isn't an excuse for that. And as i've said I think he should maybe be more proactive with the youth players in midfield.

In most of the other aspects there is something not quite right but I'm really not sure it's his fault. It's either that he's demanding maximum effort and not getting it because of the mental and physical fatigue or it's that he's under advice from experts in medical science and recovery to be careful. I don't think it's a coincidence that Lamela, Aurier and Lucas have looked sharp so far this season compared to the other first team players.

As i've said, the circumstances have been testing throwing the off field issues with Lloris into the mix too. I still think he's doing the best he can and a very good job overall.

Should these mitigating factors no longer play a part in future then of course I will judge him much more harshly. I've previously been very critical of the lack of intensity in previous seasons because there weren't as many mitigating factors. This season though I think things are a bit different and we ought to be patient.

Some fair points there, with some aspects of the play such as the pressing game the management/nursing of the squad is going to have an effect. Agree this is something that, whilst we hope is rediscovered ASAP, fans will have to be patient with. And that we are keeping in contention at the top of the league shouldn't be sniffed at with the hurdles we've faced early on.

Other aspects though I can see no reason for delay, and they should be doing better. Particularly what we are doing with the ball. I've always thought, even with our relative success in recent years, that this is Poch's weakest area of focus. A lot of other teams have much better structure - both in the defensive/middle thirds playing out from the back, the speed/precision/efficiency of it, and in the final third I do think quite a few teams have that better structure, e.g. if A does one thing then B, C, and D react in harmony and complement the other, and a better organisation of where players are positioned on the pitch. Obviously we're not at our best right now but also teams are starting to sniff that they can get at us and more are having a go at pressing us. Definitely where evolution is needed, and that doesn't just automatically mean new players, coaching of the collective has to take another leap again. Whether we are 3rd from top, or 3rd from bottom.

After the huge effort we put in for the Barcelona game, despite it being a defeat, today was always going to be diffucult, the result and picking up no further injuries to key players was the most important thing. It has felt this week as though we are reminiscent of a boxer who has taken a few too many punches and we're on the ropes desparate for the bell to give us a breather before a knockout blow was landed, and hopefully that breather is the international break to enable some of those currently out injured a chance to recover. Although we all would have loved them to bounce back and roll Cardiff over 4-0, I'd have taken a narrow win and three points without further injuries.

What is it they say, if you can't play well then win and if you can't do that then don't lose. We did that and although that performance today would have probably seen us drop points against most Premier League sides, fortunately for us we were playing Cardiff and we now sit in third place without playing that well. We will need to up our game over the next couple of weeks when domestic fixtures and the Champions League return, but that's all for another day and another week. For once we're not going into the international break bristling with irritation over a loss or dropped points against a team were expected to beat.

Sissoko made some nice cutbacks. At the moment, I don't think there is a good feel between Kane and Moura at to where to run in relation to each other. I noticed a few times that as well other players got in each other's way.

If we get the points, it won't matter how we played.

A red card for a deliberate
cynical, crude spoiling
so called 'professional foul'
should be automatic in all such cases.
Makes 'divers' look like the local priest
at a vicarage tea party.
Well done that man.

That's all well and good, but he should've given a yellow in the first half for a blatant foul when we were breaking out. The first yellow he gave was to us. I don't know what they've said on TV, but from block 502 I thought we should've had a penalty.

I know MOTD often paints an inaccurate picture of the overall balance of a game, but what they can't change with editing is the play itself. We put some lovely moves together in that match and really should have scored from at least 3 of the chances we created with good play, whereas it seems as though Cardiff's best chances came as a result of sloppiness on our part. We might only have played well in patches, but the quality of play we're used to was in evidence today.

Before today, I didn’t really have an opinion on Cardiff, be it their fans, players, manager etc but after today, every single one of them can get fucked.

They’re a nasty club with a wanker of a manager, thug players and deluded, thick **** fans.

You have to be an idiot to think that wasn’t a red card today. I’ve had some Cardiff fans saying it wasn’t a violent challenge. Jesus.

The sooner they’re out of the PL, the better. Tossers.
