So far this season we seem generally to be able to play extremely well or extremely poorly.

Very rarely when we've tried to drop a couple of gears to save legs have we looked in control of games.

Probably explains the no draws stat, I guess.

Hopefully get all our players fit again soon, as it's such a difficult league to play when you're not 100% - even the 'shit' teams can come back to bite you...

I would have thought that was obvious. This season some teams will play against us at Wembley, others at the new WHL. That doesn't seem fair to me.

Why - pitch and goals are the same size. Sometimes certain teams are forced to play matches behind closed doors - do the teams that had to play open door games against them get to complain about being at a disadvantage.

This really irks me too!! I think it's a sign of our weakness, how we don't really have that ruthless, winning metality. We should be absolutely crucifying teams when we're in this position in games! Very annoying that we take our foot off of their necks!

Ok, so a few have disagreed with this post, but, let me ask you this; as it's pretty close at the top at the moment, I see no reason for that to change, so how would you feel if we finish the season equal on points with Liverpool or City but lose because of goal difference? My bet is that you will all look at games like yesterday's and complain that we weren't ruthless enough!! THAT is the point of that post!

I'd rather us preserve energy and manage the game to prevent displays like the one against Wolves then look ahead to a potential scenario in 4 months time that has a 0.01% chance of happening, and even if it does happen you look to the games that we lost as a reason why we aren't 1st like the Wolves match not the fact that we could have scored 1 more goal against Cardiff.

The complaint is that we are the only team that manage games like that but we're not. Liverpool did that the other day against a weak as piss Arsenal defence where they could have scored more but they sat back after an hour to save themselves for that match tomorrow, I've seen other teams do it plenty of times, other top teams - it's not exclusive to us.

Not really relevant, and certainly not a fair comparison.

I can only assume you don't know many Liverpool fans.
They, and the media, will be insufferable if Liverpool win the league.

Makes absolutely no odds to me if we get 2nd or 3rd....you don't get a trophy for either.

Just a few more million quid and for the players, self satisfaction

Sorry, the only team that is going to suffer, if any, is us. We have been disrupted for the best part of two seasons, playing all ‘away’ games. Everyone and his dog was were rubbing their hands in glee at the expected collapse of our challenge for a CL place. That never happened and suddenly they want to change the rules.

True, but any team ever, in the history of the PL could argue that. If we’d have won more games, we’d be champions. All teams lose silly games they should win. We’re not champion material, yet. But very very close.

To be fair, it's Spurs that have asked for special dispensation this season.

And while all away teams are supposed to be at a disadvantage, the level of disadvantage should be the same for all clubs within a single season. This season we're playing home games at Wembley (where it now looks like we're switching the capacity from 80,000 to 40,000 and then back up to 80,000 to accommodate the CL, the NFL and certain PL opposition), Milton Keynes and, potentially, the new WHL.

We wouldn't like it if Chelsea or Arsenal were doing the same, and a switch in the last few months of the season saw them clinch a top four finish at our expense.

But there is absolutely no way of understanding that switching stadiums makes a difference, we can't see that now nor will we be able to afterwards. Therefore it's pretty redundant as far as I can see.

Over the years we have continuously been disrupted with players being linked away from the club, not to mention being tapped up. Even right now we've got some in the media doing all they can to disrupt our season by linking Poch to United.

As far as I'm concerned we are already at a significant disadvantage in comparison to the money clubs, who by the way have a completely lack of disregard towards spending rules - City's stadium is sponsored by the owners themselves ffs.

Chelsea and City have been playing dirty tactics for years. They punish us regarding this and it looks suspicious.

We're also currently 7 points inside the CL spots, so Arsenal only have themselves to blame for that.

It's possible that our first home game at the new WHL will be against Watford, who are just 1 point behind Wolves. The new WHL will be at full capacity and the atmosphere will be incredible. Wolves played us at a half-empty Wembley where the atmosphere was terrible. You can't say that's fair on Watford.

To be fair, any 'advantage' in that game could be negated in the fact that, well ... we're Spurs, and you just never know!

Indeed. Joking aside, the 'disadvantage' does work both ways. Our form might collapse at the new WHL.

I think Warnock needs to keep Schtum as he could be harming his own cause.

If i was him i would rather my relegation rivals play Spurs at NWL. At a brand spanking new WHL with all the fans singing their hearts out and the players invigorated i would fancy our chances against anyone let alone the bottom clubs.

where as at Wembley the fans can barely stand to even turn up let alone give raucous support and the pitch is awful (although better of late)

My point is not about games we've lost, it's games we could've won by a bigger margin, boosting our goal difference, which could be the decider as to which team wins the title because it is so close at the top!!

Apart from 2012/13 when has the league ever been decided on GD?
