a few formation changes during the game which is unusual. I wonder if the lack of signings helped this tactical flexibility as Poch knew all the players know their role in the formations used last season.

When Lamela came on it looked like a 4-1-5 for a while, I’m sure ossie was smiling in the stands!!!

Wankers. No chance. We are playing our games. Where we play our games is of no relevance as long as it is approved by the Prem League.
There is a very good reason why this rule was put in place though, it's just that Levy has pulled a bit of a fast one as to how we are getting around it.

Very good performance. Could have done with being a bit more clinical in the first 20 when we were well on top, or getting the penalty decision.

Little exposed at the back - very similar to England at the World Cup, opponents getting between wing back and left/right sided centre back, and no pressure on the opposition full back allowing them to cross from mid way in our half and get the ball in the area between defence and goalkeeper.

Switch to a back four was spot on, and we controlled things from there. I prefer two centre backs with Dier dropping in the middle, and the centre backs split when we have the ball, to a back three with Dier in front, when up against teams we are better than. 3 guys doing the job as opposed to four, just works better for me.

Against Utd back three could be the way to go, Fulham at home I would rather see us have more attacking players on the pitch

Have to say I thought Lloris was excellent again. That's two games in a row now that's he's saved us. Rushed out to block Sessengon so well yesterday and in the first game rushing out to Kenedy and making the save from Perez too. So encouraging.

He’s looking more rugged too. There is a connection

We played really well although we missed a few chances we should have scored. Looked much better when Lamela and Dembele were on. Lucas Moura’s performance was a real plus especially given our lack of transfer activity, I know it’s a cliche but he’s like a new signing!

I thought the atmosphere was ok yesterday too. Definitely not as gloomy as some people feared following the disappointment of the transfer window and stadium delay.

This was a victory
for a settled side with even the subs
being well integrated players
coming on after long injuries
against a side with a dozen or more new players,
some of them decent but playing like strangers.
under a new manager.

Signings?
Alderweireld, Lamela, Moura and Winks are all like new signings
not to mention Onomah, Amos and others
standing by in case of emergency

I know it's not a popular opinion on here, but in my opinion, Dier is the most upgradeable first 11 player we have left in the side.

I think we really suffer from his limited ability on the ball, and how easy Dier is to play around in there.

I think putting a proper top class player in Dier's position and we could win the league.

I agree about the dier comment but i just cannot ever see poch leaving dier out for a game nevermind upgrade him. I agree with the wanyama comments though.
