Crazy way to finish the season. Please with 3rd place. Glad the season is over though, looking forward to returning home for next season

Not really.

People complained about the back line - when you had 4 players playing together for the first time.

People complained about CMs - when Dembele and Winks are out injured

People complained just to complain - after a great fucking season. Even 3-1 down, this was nothing like the Newcastle match. It was just an awkward set of circumstances that put players in difficult situations. No reason to go negative on this performance.
Personally, I don't think the negativity matters (although I used to, but I'm more mellow now), you're always going to get people who are negative or positive. What mounts my breasts is the snide, spiteful nature of some of the comments directed toward our own players. I'm told this is "passion". What rot :D

By the way, today's result isn't "On Poch" that's reserved for when we don't win. Finishing third isn't bad for a tactically inept manager who never learns when to make subs, who's in game management is atrocious, is a mug, a clown and clueless, all comments made this week by "passionate" fans, but you see, they never actually meant it :cautious:

Missed pretty much the entire game until we made it 3-2. Was checking in here and could see all of the negativity again.

I think you have to take a lot into consideration.
- It's been a very difficult season and it's taken it's toll on a number of players, clearly.
- The likes of Rose, Wanyama, Toby and Lamela who have all had long-term injuries have been suffering for form and rhythm since returning, which is perfectly normal.
- Defensive switcharound - both CBs replaced, both full backs replaced, is it any wonder we struggled initially. Stability is born out of consistency.
- Sissoko and Wanyama in CM. Is never going to inspire or drive us, and the only reason we saw it is due to the injuries of Dembele & Winks. Next season should be better.
- KWP, difficult game for him to start and Leicester could easily have targeted him with is inexperience and lack of familiarity. He coped well and got high up the pitch too.
- End of season affair - these tend to be pretty much nonchalant affairs yet Leicester seemed to turn up and want this. It's also important to note that their energy levels would be higher having been on the beach in recent weeks.
- Once the target is achieved (CL) it can be easy for teams to switch off and revert to illdisciplined performances where teams tend to focus on individual honours or try to impress going into the summer. Which can transpire in strange performances. United drew 5-5 in their final game for Fergie after winning the title, probably because they were trying to give him something to exciting to sign off with, therefore it's a bit caution to the wind.

Combine all of this together and you can understand the haphazard performance. I don't think you can analyse it in isolation in terms of what is happening at the club. Therefore opinion such as "Something isn't right" are a bit daft. There's nothing in it.

Anyway, despite that, we won, we got third and now Poch and the team can take a little breather and then focus on strengthening us for next and the future seasons.

.......with no more Wembley to have to endure!

Sky Sports haven’t mentioned us once since the final whistles - they’ve spent 40 minutes talking about Liverpool, interviewing Klopp pitchside like they’ve just won the league.

They do realise we’ve just won 3rd place and Liverpool bottled it, right?

They are coming up with a whole new set of things we're going to have to do next season.

Same old bollocks, different season.

It is understandable though from broadcasting perspective. The race for 4th was the only race still on so of course they are going to focus on liverpool.

I'm not sure how we won our last two games.

That CM area hurt to watch and we need to go big on a CM, Wanyama is at 50% the player he was last year. Hopefully an injury free pre season will see him way sharper, i thought he was horrendous today, really poor. But we got the result and it's great to finish 3rd after playing away all season.

Fair play to Poch and the players. We need a big summer window to really kick on in the new stadium, i hope we pull one or two big big players out of the bag. Here's hoping.

Fuck SKY, we'll just keep finishing above the scallies and they'll just have to keep writing us the bigger cheque:D

Not a bad season looking at our budget spend compared to the Man teams and Liverpool. Yes some disappointments at no trophy win but overall still finished 3rd and go again in Europe. I hope the club, fans and team live up to expectations in the new stadium. I just feel that we need a midfield General like Gazza to takes us further forward. Any suggestions. Wishing you all a great holiday, England a good World Cup with 4 or 5 Spurs players and looking forward to next season. Lucas and KWP looking good.

To be fair Liverpool have only just clinched their CL spot so it's news and they're also sat in a studio at Anfield after showing the game there live so they probably have an audience of mainly scourers. If they'd just shown our match I'd expect them to be talking about us.

It's astonishing really. The BBC headline is "Liverpool in Top Four" when it should actually be "Spurs claim 3rd". The BBC Liverpool bias is becoming really embarrassing.
