A few years ago I was confident we would give them a good game and even had a good chance of winning, how things have have changed. Expecting a loss anything else is a massive surprise and bonus.
Thats what £35000,000000,0000000 Gazillion willion bejillion pounds does to a team.

yes that is an actual fiscal number.

think its going to go 1 of 2 ways, we will pull a great performance out the bag, and win 2-0, or get battered by 3/4

Only way we can win is to drag them into the dirt and make it a back alley brawl. Take advantage of the pitch, frustrate them and then launch some clinical counters with Eriksen, Lamela and Kane.

If we give away brainless goals from set pieces or straight balls down the middle like we did last season, then it will be the same old story.

Show me that you've learnt something these last couple of years, boys. Play smart.

It's games like this that fill me with the dread we should be instilling in the smaller teams in the league. We've seen us start badly so many times in big games, it wouldn't surprise me for a minute to see us 2-0 down after 15 mins and 3-0 before HT. Before a half decent 2nd half performance, coupled with them taking their foot off the gas saving it from being an absolute embarassment.

Big games we always start so slowly these days. Seemingly especially in Europe. We are gonna need to be at 100mph from the start to get anything tonight

We’ll need the ref on our side for that, something that doesn’t seem to happen often nowadays.

Just wrote a lovely post about how we can surprise them as the media narrative is all about us folding but when I tried to justify it I can’t stop thinking of our defensive mistakes and soft centre...

God I hope Poch can fire them up for this and approach it like we used to approach the Chelsea games, make it a battleground and don’t let them play around us

Can you forfeit for a 3-0 loss like teams used to in Sunday League? ?

Just got to chuck the kitchen sink at them and be up for every battle while remaining disciplined...

It's actually heartening to see so much negativity and lack of expectation. That means the Match Thread will be free of the hysteria, over the top vitriol aimed at our players and general all round boohoo-ing.

Bang me up with the optimistic rating.

The fact City didn’t agree to reversing this fixture is a farce and it should have been forced on them, it’s not exactly a big deal playing 3 away games in a row.

Really looking forward to us getting walloped by the state of Qatar tonight.
Its Abu Dhabi actually
