Man utd fans getting well ahead of themselves. Arsenal beat us and look what happened to them. This season was always going to be difficult and we are ahead of what I expected. Play like the 2nd half and we'll beat most teams.

Walking out of Wembley feeling like this team is at a crossroads. We need investment. Too many of our key players look fatigued. No depth on the bench. Very little alternative to Plan A. Certainly not a title winning team. With Son flying off to Korea and if Kane and/or Sissoko are injured, then I can see us sliding back quickly. These games make Poch and Eriksen question why they should stay.

Sorry, but Jarrod Bowen or Jack Grealish ain't going to do it. If we are ambitious then we need to prove it. Otherwise, let's stop fooling ourselves that we are even competing to win titles. Sickened.
Plus which, isn't Bowen a winger? Why are we in the market for another winger when there is a far more pressing issue right now? If we can't buy, can we not loan?

It's like too little butter spread over too much bread.

Look at the individual saves and pick out the ones he had no right to make...
You could say that but look at his positioning and stature. He stood his ground, made our players have to choose where to put it. He also showed superb reflexes, even if some were close to him. He remained calm despite us throwing everything at him. Some keepers would have blinked first and made it easier for our strikers. Having said that Llorente and Alli should have done better

Any talk of being unlucky is losers talk really. Ultimately it is because of what we have done that has seen us lose the game.

First half we are naïve in the extreme, asking to be done on the counter but neither the players on the pitch or the manager on the touchline have done anything about it. Then we commit a brainfart and basically gift them a goal.

Second half yeah we have huffed and puffed, given it a go and created chances. But apart from the one class save De Gea made from Alderweireld, all the others are ones I'd be expecting a keeper to make, they just look a bit more jazzy because he uses his feet more to make saves. The Alli and Kane one on ones should have been buried, no if's no but's, Rashford tucked his away.......

We have to take responsibility for what we did, or didn't do, and what was within our control. On the balance of play we did deserve something, but ultimately what we did wasn't good enough to get it and that's the mentality that is needed to kick on.
Not at all, its the opposite, because he is moving his feet it looks more simple, but to adjust like that that from close range is really really hard, they were good saves. Don't get me wrong most keepers will save a majority of the chances we made, very few keepers would save all of them. It was a very good performance by him.

I think the yo-yo first half people are painting it as naive, but ultimately Man utd are a decent side and they will have the ability to scare us. We coped ok, and we looked dangerous too and were growing into the game. We conceded a goal from a mistake, not on the counter, but in transition. We probably needed to keep someone else back for corners, but that was the only real issue.

We weren't unlucky, we should of won, we should of finished better and I do agree with your ultimate point. Its not unlucky to face very good goalkeeper. We needed to be cooler in our finishing we weren't today but we didn't play badly at all either. We were unlucky with the injury of Sissoko though. Which I believe did contribute to us conceding a goal. As our midfield wasn't adjusted. Second half we were almost very good, with Man Utd being forced to play like Brighton.

Yep, that tactical naivety again. Davies sitting deeper in the second half made a massive difference IMO, don't know how it took so long to have at least one of the fullbacks sitting deeper to aid in counter attacks.
When I said poch isn't tactically seasoned enough to go to madrid or survive the expectations of manure I got savaged.

But I only speak the truth.

Neville is such a fucking ××××.....
Probably the most deluded commentary ever. Trying to convince us MU were decent, we created 20 clear chances tearing them a new one.... And as for Redknapp,.. What a prick.

Its my way of coping. Leave me be

Fwiw we'll easily still get top 4. My point is that we never make it easy. We'll get there, but just like a game when spurs are 2 nil up, you're never truly confident.

We came up against a keeper in great form and some poor finishing. Another day we win 4 or 5-1

CAN WE ALL PLEASE PRAY THAT KANE ISN’T BADLY INJURED
And Sissoko too - Our midfield depth is non-existent right now. Kane & Siss out injured, as well as no Son...And no sign of any spending taking place....and Dembele pretty much gone - We could be more fucked than we realise.

Serious question

We will not win the league this year and maybe this sound a bit cocky but we won’t finish outside top 4

So should we rotate more in the league and go for it on the cups + CL?

Gonna be a mass wankfest over their keeper now. When the truth of the matter is they were all pretty much regulation saves. We should have buried at least 4 of those chances in the 2nd half and been out of site

Love how Davies played fine but is somehow being lumped in with Trippier in the kick a player stakes.

I sort of agree but whilst Davies didn’t make any Trips-style errors, he also contributed almost nothing going forwards, whereas Trips did put some good crosses in and got in useful positions.

It’s been this way for a while - Trips is a liability defensively, but offers quite a lot going forwards. Davies is a reliable safe pair of hands, but offers almost nothing offensively.

Ultimately I wouldn’t be playing those two in the big games.
