Team Form: Manu WWWLW Spurs WWWLD (All competitions)

This will be Manu's 29th appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals, equaling Arsenal's record set last season. While we have lost each of our last seven FA Cup semi-final ties - the longest such run in the competition's history :(

This will be the fourth occasion of the same two teams playing against each other in different competitions within the same season at Wembley. The others were L'pool v Hammers in 1980-81, The Arse v Sheffield Wednesday in 1992-93 and us vs West Ham this season.

Manu have won each of their last three FA Cup ties against us (1997,2008 and 2009), last losing to us in a third round replay in January 1980.

We have won three of our last five meetings with Manu in all competitions, as many as we had in our previous 36 against them.

We are the highest scorers in this season's FA Cup netting 17 goals in our six games. Romelu Lukaku has scored in each round Manu have played in so far this season, netting five goals in total. Son has had a hand in 14 goals in his 15 FA Cup appearances (9 goals 5 assists) - more than any other player in the competition over the past three seasons.

However, Alexis Sanchez has scored five goals in his four FA Cup games at Wembley, including the winning goals in both of his semi-final appearances.

Seven.

If Seven is enough for the Magnificent, the Secret, the Samurai, the Dwarves, the Brides (and the Brothers) and Blake, then it’s surely enough for Tottenham’s run of FA Cup semi-final defeats.

If we were able to break a 28-year-old hoodoo earlier this year, then we should be able to break a 27-year-old curse tomorrow.

The run of Seven stops here. So says Nine (who, incidentally, may well be one over the Eight).

I don’t understand the stat about teams playing each other in different comps, surely that’s happened more than 4 times? Unless it’s to do with playing at Wembley.

Anyway hope Poch has the team primed and his tactics in order. Pretty sure Mourinho will throw a curve ball to unsettle us..

Not feeling this.

Been no genuine buzz from Poch about this tourny, hence don't think the players have that deep down hunger for it.

Have no idea what to expect from us tomorrow, though I know exactly what will be coming the other way.

That's my concern.

Really hope I'm misreading it and we smash them up.

We need to win this cup.

Very nervous to be honest. This Utd tram are beatable but Maureen is always capable of pulling out a performance in a big game like this.

I hope the team are as pumped up for this as they were Juve.

We'll see.

Whatever pochettino starts with, he still needs to get his in game management sorted. Itll be unbearable if they are giving us a kicking amd he doesnt do anything about it. Mourinho is such a canny operator and I fear a tactical lesson coming our way, and given our poor form in the last 2 games it doesn't bode well. He's bound to set up fairly defensively to catch us on the break, using their pacey forwards. Scares me to be honest.

Can only hope we turn up in high spirits and play like we are capable of.

Edit. This takes me back 5 seasons or so to my more pessimistic days. Win this cup and I may just start permitting myself hope in these situations!

A couple of weeks ago and I would have been bursting with confidence at the thought of playing Man Utd....but after the last few matches I'll just be happy if we can fall over the line 1-0 and make it to the final.
Hope everyone turns up today...especially Eriksen....

Am I missing something about this stat?

We haven’t played them in Lge cup, Champs lge or charity shield so it’s only the league & FA cup... that’s not a rare thing

This season we've broken the Wembley hoodoo, we've broken the Bridge hoodoo, we've broken the always lose at Anfield hoodoo. 1 more this season is nothing for this team. Come on you Spurs!!

He means this is the 2nd time we will have played United at Wembley this season(league and fa cup), and this is the 4th time two teams will play twice vs each other at Wembley, after the other games listed.

After the semi final last season I’m dreading this game to be honest. Going to be even worse as I can’t go to the game today as well.

I’m desperate for us to win so I expect it won’t happen. Hope I’m massively wrong though. Going to have to get the first goal I feel.
