Don't know what to make of Pochettino's comment to The Moose: he talked about the trajectory of the club and that it is important that this is maintained by him "or someone else". Is he leaving?

Man Utd's time wasting really was exceptional, I would over to know how much they managed to shorten the second half by.

Mourinho's teams really mirror him perfectly, ugly as sin with nothing artistic about them.
You know what? If he'd bring his ability to win trophies with him, I'd swap in a heartbeat.

I think we are officially the new A*****l, CL is all Danny boy is bothered about, keep the cash rollin in!!!

Before we worry about "dropping to their level" it would be nice to have some (any?) success.

I would bloody love being the new Arsenal. They won 8 FA cups since we last won it. I don't even wanna look up the amount of League titles they won since we last won it. They been a regular in the CL forever to.

Our fault for letting them get into that situation I'm afraid.

We really need players who can spot a change in the oppositions atitude. Dembele didn't anticipate that Pogba was going to start pressing him high up the pitch and he paid for it.

Plays the position we have put ourselves in for top four finish. Yes another lack luster performance. This is not looking good for top four finish. So no cups again and looking like we could well FeK up 4th. That would not be a good season to take into the new stadium, and to be honest I can see us starting with a few of the players we have now gone if we don’t finish at least in CL spot.

A few gave me a funny rating when I posted '6th place finish coming up', but I can see it happening and in a perverse way I hope we do, because something needs to focus Levy's mind as to what football is actually about, it's about winning trophies, it's about glory!! It really fucks me off that he doesn't seem to understand that the cash will follow, in even bigger lorry loads than we get now!!!

This sums things up pretty well and fairly I think.

Too often in the past Tottenham’s failures have been put down to character, when in fact they have just not been good enough. They should have won this game. Not every defeat is a bottle, but this one was. Losing to the better team is a defeat, but being the better team and losing is a bottle.

We've been caught out in many 'big' games fucking about in our own half leading to goals - it's a real achilles heel of ours

Even in spite of the fact this team having shown excellent character to come from behind in the past, it was clear the game was finished as soon as United scored. I felt my mood completely change and overall sense of dread come over me.

Probably a mixture of it being against a Mourinho team and being a Spurs fan. What's disappointing for me is that not even for one moment in that second half did I think we were going to win or equalise. Do the players feel that way too? Does Poch have the ability or tools to alter this mentality?

If we are to win something that's what it's going to come down too.

Poch, being the man he is, will probably learn from this and spend a summer reflecting and understanding what he needs to help us in these future situations. It really is a huge summer!

Very true...in actual fact we are terrible at losing a lead but still going on to win a game.

If we go behind, I'm more confident we can come back than if we concede an equaliser. I think the Stoke match was one of the few exceptions to that rule.

Wouldnt surprise me tbh, unless we change the wage structure he's probably taken us as far as he can. Every season is the same, lose a player, sign more young players and try and get top 4, rinse and repeat.

Perhaps but by Christ, the threads on this site lamenting our style of play it really wouldn't be worth the hassle.
I think I could live with moany matchday threads for 2x seasons if we won the League Cup, the Europa League and reached an FA Cup final in that period.

Allowed myself a little chuckle.

The match day thread for the most part this year has been devoid of alot of posters who have only shown up in the last week to lament the last two results.

Now everything is doom and gloom and we're about to fall into yet another pit based on a semi final that most on here had 'a bad feeling' about and last week to the Champions elect.

'legends' on the pitch, in the dug out and by the looks of the last two hours of unmitigated horror legends off of it.

You couldn't make it up.

Ive said before we are where we are on luck.
NOBODY foresaw Alli and Kane being the players they are.
Take them out the team, as we'd never have bought players of that quality (we cant), and we'd be 7th 8th ish.
Bale went cosmic. Nobody could foresee that either and we bought Eriksen with the money.
However we got here we are now here and need to stop fucking about penny pinching with contracts and invest to go to the next level.
If we dont then the Liverpool and Arsenals of this world will and we'll never break back in imo.
You don't get to where we have with a bag of luck.

I just wanted a trophy to keep big players happy. They will all be looking at walker with envious eyes and getting their agents on the case. I would

It is I agree we can never be blameless, but we made a choice when we went ahead not to stick our entire team behind the ball and time waste.

Jose is a coward, he's a coward that wins undoubtedly but a tragic individual at his core.

I don't think Poch is thinking of leaving, he's probably just talking about years' down the line if he's unable to get us a trophy. He'll be hurting too remember.

Just saw Alli's interview. He's absolutely spot on. We need to be winning these games when we go 1-0 up and we need to be having much more of a go when we go down. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to itch for a move in the next year.
