Ade has always needed a number of chances to finish. He tries to place every shot and rarely hits it hard. Never has been clinical imo but makes the team play better by holding the ball up when on form which unfortunately he isn't.

IMO, is his holding of the ball what's making him a detriment for the team this season. With the likes of Lamela, Eriksen. Mason and Chadli in our mid field, we need some up there how can touch the ball quickly instead of holding it for too long as that's the only way we're going to be able to get the best out of those guys.

Now, Adebayor has shown he can play that way, but for some reason he keeps hanging on the ball for a bit too long, and that's simply doing us no much good.

Because no player has ever missed a sitter.

I would prefer to see Kane start as well, but forwards miss sitters. If we dropped or got rid of forwards that have missed sitters this season, Lloris would be playing up front.

If I had said that was my sole reason, your point would've been valid. It was the final straw, he's useless at holding the ball up (even when on form, contrary to what others believe), he never wins a header despite being taller than most defenders and chooses the more difficult option each time an easy pass is on.

He has this stupid idea that controlling the ball with the outside of his foot is easier than the inside, then 9/10 times loses it. It's common sense above all that he lacks.

I just don't see this, and never have. My honest opinion is that he struggles to hold the ball up when a defender is behind him. He loves to use the outside of his foot but rarely has success.

For a tall fast guy like that he should be bullying defenders of the ball and smashing it into the net. When has he ever hit a shot with power?

That's a bit harsh. When he due a new contract he smashes the ball into the back of the net at will.

When playing for Arsenal against us he powered one in. Don't remember any after that.

Precisely my thought when I wrote that. On the swivel and smashed it in, great goal. Never done it for us. Plays when he wants and in even starting to think MoPo is under some sort of obligation to start him to justify the man's wages.

I said he rarely hits it hard in my post.
Did you read all of it?
Edit- and We'll have too disagree that he's never been good at holding the ball up or being strong.
He may not be doing it well at the moment but on his day bullying defenders and holding the ball up is exactly what he's very good at and why he went to Arsenal, Man City and a spell at RM. Only my opinion of course.

Agree he does use outside of boot a lot but its the softly softly striking that does my nut in.

What a great trip down memory lane. Probably the best game Jenas ever played for us.

Great seeing that game again although makes you a bit sad seeing such good football when ours is so ropey right now. I look forward to good football again one day soon.

You are obviously never watched him play, i mean how can you be taken seriously at all. The last time he scored was from a header.

Jeeezzzz some people on here just hate for hates sake.

So, being subbed for Kane in the week and to have Kane on the bench when he is playing, just might be that "wake up call"?
You gave me a WTF, but I was actually complimenting you for being sensible in your opinions and not thinking the sky was falling in. It wasn't a negative comment.

23% heading duels success rate speaks for itself.

I mean, how can you be taken seriously. Some people are blinded by our own players' deficiencies.

With the amount of abuse you get on here for your narrow mindedness I'm shocked at your comment. Just because his last goal was a header, means he's a specialist? Can you remember the header before that.....?
