Haven’t heard his verdict yet, but Poch never gives much away in interviews.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen us play worse, but we gave away too many chances for me that a bettef team would have punished and going forward we just look a bit leggy and disjointed. Plus a lot of players are just a bit off form all at the same time. It happens.

Have you been at Wembley? Just asking because I’m a ST holder, but I didn’t go tonight and I’ve found over the years that a game can have a different complexion when you watch it in the stadium as opposed to watching on TV.

Nah we was shit. Sissoko was abysmal. Six hour slog in a shit stadium. Hope it’s sold with no football in that soulless hole.

Could you argue with me if I say we had some quality moments in front of goal to put 2 in the net + world clas GK and CBs, and this is why we were simply the winning team today..?

Oh, and Poch knew how to win the game as well ;)
Hugo kept us in the game. Kane could have had more goals. What I'm bothered about is winning, so I'm glad, but what bothers me is the performance in case it augurs badly for the remaining games.

It's a strange one. The whole vibe is a bit 'off'. Dont get me wrong, 3 points is bloody crucial. But we've struggled the last few games now. Even when we scored the opener tonight, watch the players reactions. It was a like a training ground goal in they didn't seem too fussed. And that can sometimes transcend to the fans, just as fans in terms of support/atmosphere transcends to the players. It's the cliché I'd rather us play poor and pick up 3 points than play beautiful football and draw or lose, particularly now in the business end of the season.

Top 4 at the start of the season and I'd have snapped your hand off.

I do think Wanyama is struggling to get round the pitch a bit though and break up play, he's not really demonstrating that he should be in the team and wrestling that shirt off someone else - even if the other two are serving up some real shite. Being on that bizarre booking from the moment he stepped on the pitch probably didn't help though tonight.

Seriously MP, what's he supposed to do in a game like that? Just watching Dier is enough to give Wanyama the shirt. The worst he could do is be as bad.

He's barely played all season, and I doubt he's played two consecutive games, and then gets brought into a shit shower like that and people expect what exactly ? He should have been put back in after the Liverpool away game (where he was great when he came on), allowed to build up his form, instead we've had to watch the drip drip drip tirture of the slow twins all season.

I think Dembele would have been better with Wanyama next to him too, at least he'd have head someone else to do the running.

As someone once said, it's a funny old game. We played well (in the main) against Juve and Man U and lost, we played shit against Watford and won fairly comfortably. Tbh all I wanted today was 3 points so I'm a happy bunny regardless - I just want us to get over the line, playing nice football would be a bonus but getting the job done is all that matters at the moment.

It was a shite game all round, and we got lucky. We played some lovely football at times, with some sublime touches and movement from everyone... Problem was that those passages of play were nearly all let down by some woeful passes... And everyone was guilty. Thankfully Watford were even more shite and let us win.

I think as far as the crowd goes, everyone is just sick of Wembley now and want to get back home. I for one can't bloody wait to not have to go over there again.

I think some of it is rhythm and maybe confidence too, but every game he comes on, baring in mind he should be fresh legs, there are instances where someone easily breezes past him, there were two or three again tonight, that I find myself thinking 'that was pretty weak, and not like him', or he is getting caught wrong side and allowing someone to drift off him and cant chase back in and hunt him down.

Dier and Dembele are not playing very well currently, and I would probably give Vic a start next game tbh, but I don't think he's putting in convincing cameos to change Poch's mind.

Well what can I say. Bad goalkeeper error and really bad finishing from Watford helped us tonight, it certainly wasn’t our brilliant football. Haven’t made any progress in our performance. Thank god Watford were so shit. But I will take the win. Still need another win though and Leicester and Newcastle should in theory be better opposition than Watford. I think West Bromwich will really be up for it.
So hard choice for me on Saturday. Liverpool win almost gets us fourth but probably loses us third!

Admitedly I only watched the match on the box but I felt we were in control for most of the game apart from three fluffed chances Watford had. Most importantly we got the 3 points and now move on to the next game. COYS.

I agree that having his leg raked by an awful challenge and being given a yellow card for it was disgraceful BUT it doesn't excuse how he let two Watford players just walk past him with the ball into the penalty box. Bad night all round for our CM's.

We weren't good, in fact we were very poor, but we won. How many times have we all said that the sign of a good side is one that wins when playing poorly? It wasn't helped that we had a 9 day gap between the loss to Man U and tinight's game, rather than past bad games where we may have been back out on the pitch 3 or 4 days later to rectify a poor performance.

At this end of the season it's not about performance, it's about results, especially with Chelscum only 2 points behind. It would have been far worse had we lost, but we didn't and now we are 5 points ahead with Chelscum playing Lollerpuddle this weekend. We are in the driving seat for 3rd place. If Chelski beat Liverfool and win their game in hand, they are level on points.

It could easily happen that 'Pool win the CL and finish 4th. I'm not sure about the other north London team winning the EL, but it really is all about the points. So "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" about how well we play, I just want the points.

But I see that happening to Dier even game too, including tonight. I think it's always going to be turbulent when you are introduced in a game where it's got open and messy. I don't think Wanyama is Kante or anything, but he's more dynamic with and without the ball as a DM than Dier is.

Whilst at this point the results are the main thing, to hope we can fall over the line, we shouldn't just dismiss this poor 4-5 game run we have been on, or forget it... Performances like tonight might have been good enough to squeak a win here, or against another shite team like Stoke, but not against the better teams as we saw in the biggest game we had left last weekend - where we kind of drifted into the game, drifted through it, and promptly drifted out of the competition. It's been a disappointing end to the season, I'd hope the team regroup for a big effort in the last few games and finish on a high, but the evidence is we're limping home - Top Four or not.

Hugo solid tonight
Yes one of the pluses. Of course the fact that Watford were allowed to get in those positions is not good. And to be honest they were chances I would have expected him to stop. Another plus was Harry’s goal but again not his overall performance. In fact nobody played that well at all. I was going to give Trippier MOTM but then he gone done 3 or 4 times and could have cost us a goal.
All in all no improvement on our general play and you could tell from us bringing on Sissoko we were very nervous the Watford would get a goal and possibly snatch a draw. Not a confident game at all, I was really hoping we would step up. But 3 points and 2 goals is great. So let’s try and improve our game at West Brom. However I think they are on a high and I don’t see us getting anything from that.

I just see a fresh on the pitch Wanyama getting done like he has played for about 6 hours whilst wading through concrete too often currently.

None of the three are really putting their hands up for selection in all truth, and Dier/Dembele are Poch's clear favourites so that pairing we all know will resume.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, whilst the points are the most important thing at this end of the season, I still want to see great performances, to see the team playing well and getting the crowd on their feet.

I suspect that some of the team may be playing for their contracts or transfer in the summer and that may be the issue, but I am NOT ITK, it's just a guess. Let's just hope we get third spot, the rest will take care of itself!
