Match: ____ English Premier League (EPL) - Day 24

When: ____ Wednesday January 30th 2018

Where: ____ Wembley Stadium

Referee: ____ Graham Scott

Kick Off: ____ 8:00pm

Team Form: ___ Spurs WLWLL ____ Watford DWWDW __(All Competitions)

We are unbeaten in our last 7 home games against Watford in all competitions (W6 D1) since a 2-3 loss in League Cup match in October 1994. Watford are lookin to do the league double over us for the very first time

After winning their first three away League games against us by an aggregate of 9-3, Watford have lost each of their last eight such visits, scoring 3 and conceding 22. Watford could become the first side to do a league double over a "big six" side outside of those clubs since the 2015-16 campaign (West ham vs Liverpool and Newcastle vs us)

We have won our last 10 EPL games on a Wednesday by an aggregate of 26-3. Meanwhile Watford have played more EPL games on Wednesday without ever winning, than any other side in the competition (P13 W0 D4 L9)

We haven't drawn any of our last 27 EPL games (W20 L7). Victory or defeat here would equal the record set by Bolton between March - December 2011 of 28 games without a draw in the competition. We have lost our last two home league games, last losing three in a row in 2008. We last lost three in a row at home within the same season in February 2007.

We have scored more headed goals than any other EPL side this season (12). 50% of Fernado Llorente's overall goals in the EPL have been headers (8 out of 16) unfortunately only one of those was while playing for us.

11 of the 15 EPL goals we have scored against Watford under Poch have been netted by the injured or unavailable Ali, Kane and Son.

I use to be inspired and got a buzz doing these match thread in anticipation of the game to come. Doing this one I had a sense of disillusionment, just saying.

This is gonna be a slog.

Unfortunately, when results go our way we seldom seem to capitalise on it.

Here's hoping for a win, but Watford will surely be encouraged by our "performance" at Palace.

I can see there being an atmosphere like a morgue at this after our two cup exits and our bizarre inertia with not trying to strengthen the squad. Could be a long night against a tough and physical team.

A big chance to close the gap on City after their lose at Newcastle. Also with Utd dropping points we can open that gap to 9 points. We have a relatively decent run of games coming up, we need to reignite our season after a pretty shit week. Two wins this week will get us all excited again about a strong finish to the season and potentially still a sniff of the title.

I have a worry re the athmospbere. Expecting a small crowd which hopefully will not impact the team negatively.

COYS

Thanks Bullet as always for the thread. Keep the faith!!

Whoever goes please support the team regardless. Get them going on what is bound to be a cold dreary night where a win puts us in touching distance of City before they face Arsenal.

This is what concerns me. I genuinely do understand everyone's frustration with the club at the moment. However, whether Poch's fault, Levy's fault, MACE's fault or the fault of the infamous Juju which @yankspurs is so convinced Adebayors mum placed on us. The players & Poch have had to deal with so fucking much this season, and they've done it bloody superbly.

I can understand people having the desire to vent their frustration at the game, but the last thing the players & Poch need is yet another negative to deal with.

I think we have a great opportunity here. If the boys come out and play with intent - anger even - they can press RESET on this dip in form and put us right back in the thick of the top 4. With Sonny and Sissoko back, a win could really give us the hope we need to make that final push down the stretch.

COYS!

I hope so. I know it's 'only Watford at home' but with our injuries and still lack of recruitment I really will be so so happy if we come away with the three points tonight. Not sure if I'm more worried than I should be, guess I could just really envision Watford making life hard for us but hopefully with Son back we can give them much more to be concerned about and really be on the front foot.

Not sure if it's too early to have him starting, but we've looked good in the past with Son leading the line before so hopefully it's the case again tonight! Still not sure I trust Llorente, but we could see a better him with Son running around him and us being at home. Plus I don't think Lucas has been so great, but he was more positive against Palace I thought, just hope he doesn't go back into his shell. COYS.

So who is available for this? Son, Lucas, Lamela, Eriksen, Winks, Dier?

That should be more than enough really.

Doesn't always work out like this though, it all depends on how we play on the day. I'm sure the team we put out against Wolves looked more than enough too. Depends on certain factors for me, in particular, how influential Eriksen may be, if Llorente can positively effect the game or if Son will still be sharp and firing. All elements that could greatly influence the outcome of the match.

Son back is so vital though, I think it enables us to have more an ability to take the game to the opposition, as opposed to just playing around them and kind of just probing for a goal.
