Huge game now against Newcastle. We play first this weekend in the early game.

Win and we go second ahead of City and close the gap on Liverpool.

Unlike the load of panicking, hate-filled rage-babies on the match threads.

I usually avoid match threads - it's easy 'cos I'm at the match. Tonight I was at home on a dodgy stream, having not bought tickets because of health complications (I will get myself to the Newcastle match, then I will probably disappear for awhile), so I read the unending screed of entitled, blame-based crap that masquerades as "being a fan".

And then we scored and suddenly all the hate was love. What bullshit.
Hope it works out OK, chap.

We played much better overall when we went to Back 4

Shame that Newcastle look a competent team now

Yeah and they have an extra days rest. 3 times we have an early Saturday kick off in the next month and on all 3 occasions we play important games late on the wed night beforehand. The scheduling sucks.

Ben Foster. I am sure his possession stats when playing us must be up there with the highest in the league. Such a time wasting cheat. Made the result all the sweeter yesterday. Add to that the ball boy incident when the Watford player was moaning about time wasted...

Where was he for Llorente’s header ? Strange goal but a great cross from Rose.

That usually means we don’t win!

But like I said in the top 4 thread, it mustn’t be forgotten Newcastle have an extra day’s rest on us and last night was a physically draining game

Fuck's sake :ROFLMAO:

Comments like this about a World Cup, European Cup and Serie A double title winner, this is what football fandom has become.
Nah, not having that.
Sticking by comments I made about llorente before the game.
I always liked him as a player, and respect his achievements. But he's too old now for the top level and too immobile. I'm very pleased for him after what happened yesterday but it doesn't alter that we need a superior backup for Kane and to rotate strikers more often.
This is what SC has become, people trawling through the pre-match comments so they can make cutting retrospective replies! :cautious:

So happy for the win yesterday.
Bad mistake from Hugo on their goal.
Other than that we kept pressuring them and we got the goals we needed.

Following on here yesterday while at work. Went to a meeting just as 2nd half started and based on comments sounded like we had no chance. Fully expected us to win but still somewhat surprised to see the final score. Last meeting with Chelsea fan. Couldn't stop grinning. Turned out to be a great afternoon.

I like that they were apparently singing 'Tottenham Hotspur, it's happened again' at the start of their match. 90 minutes later.... ??

Yeah the knee jerk reactions in these match threads can be vile. I get that people are upset when we play like sh*t but the slating of some of our players are disgusting.

Llorente celebrated his goal like we won the CL. He's obviously feeling the pressure of delivering when Kane, one of the best strikers in the game is out. Give the guy a break.

Pochettino and this group of players deserves some respect and the benefit of a doubt.

Fair weather fans??

Pretty expensive to watch football, let alone travel on the coldest night of the year to (and from) Wembley (where we weren't supposed to still be), a midweek school night, after working all day to watch a threadbare squad against Watford?

Actually looking forward to getting to a home game next season.
